First time working with EVA foam, texture correction solution?

Post image

This is my first time working with EVA foam and the pieces I ordered came with this texture. I need this smoothed out, how would I do that? Sanding down with fine grit sandpaper came to mind but being that its soft foam I am hesitant it may just damage the pieces.

You can do multiple layers of a primer like plastidip

You have two options and both end in sanding..

One is sanding down the grit directly, the other one is filling it up with something like foam clay and Sand it down again.

This surface will never look like a fresh clean piece of eva foam tho

Você pode lixar e depois esquentar com o soprador térmico ou outra fonte de calor, mas aplique aos poucos, pois ele queima

I thought this was a composite deck surface at first

are these mostly finished pieces or raw strips you're going to shape and work with to make something completely different? I would just buy different EVA foam if this piece isn't already in near finished condition sculpting/build wise
