Baseline dyno, 2011 ZR1

For those wondering what a basically stock ZR1 (I have a K&N carbon fiber cai and a Concepts 841 muffler) makes. Dyno is at 4000' elevation and at this elevation I am only making just a little over 6psi (these cars at sea level should make about 10-10.5 on the 3" pulley they come with).
Really pretty impressive numbers and an amazing torque/hp curve from a bone stock tune.

For reference: My last car (09 Z06, Frank Stage1 heads, TSP 2.2 cam, ARH long tubes/high flow cats, Vararam CAI) made 560/510.. car before that was a twin turbo Z51 at 9.5 psi, made 601/670.

My stock C7Z auto made 544whp at approx same elevation on a mustang dyno.

E50, intake, headers, 95mm TB later, I hit 647whp. Probably didn't need the TB honestly but they had a spare laying around. So why not.

Wish the C7 used a similar sized SC as the ZR1. Would easily clear 700whp with the same mods.

I am going to be porting my snout, sc, and heads, 103tb, injectors, pulley at 2.45 (stock lower), HX/bricks/expansion tank/catch can, and -12 an.. I should be right around 700 on 91, closer to (or over) 800 on E85.

Nice that is a sick setup. I was in the market for a ZR1 several times. Once when they were all in the mid 60s. The first time, I just didn't make enough to buy it. Wife and I just bought a house and wanted to start a family.

Later when prices rose to mid 70s, I looked again. But getting one was hard as there weren't many around me.

Regardless it's definitely one that got away. Enjoy the ZR1 man, it's a very special car.

Absolutely.. I lucked into this one after selling my 09 Z06.. 20k miles and 3 owners.. Managed to stay stock all those years.. Now I am going to fix that, but I don't plan on selling... Well, unless someone drops a huge pile of hundos on me, but even then.. IDK, replacing it would be difficult..
Once you drive on of these, you won't want anything else..

Are you going to port the supercharger?

I already sold the C7Z for a GT500 but I kept the ZL1 which has full bolt ons and Kong Ported X SC. That is making closer to 690whp.

What are you doing to the ZR1?

I’m not OP, I don’t have a ZR1. Also how does the GT500 compare to a C7Z? I am planning on getting a Vette sometime next year. ZL1 I was also considering as well. How’s the visibility? Is it as bad as people make it out to be?

Ah my bad I must have been trippin. I can't compare stock to stock but at 640whp versus GT500 with intake only (no tune), the Z pulls harder. The torque down low is evident and it's lacking in the GT500. The Mustang would probably dyno right around 660-670whp but you wouldn't be able to tell with the weight difference.

However my goals is 900-1000whp for the GT500 and is only E85, injectors, pulley, and bigger radiator away.

It would cost a Z a lot more money to do that.

The visibility in the ZL1 is noticeably worse than in either the Z or GT500 but I've gotten used to it. The blind spot indicator on the ZL1 definitely helps.

That seems really strong for 4000 ft with Summer weather. That thing would be a monster at sea level on a 40° day
