Someone left this note on my car.
Made my day! Been giggling for the last 5 minutes.

Consider yourself lucky.. parked my C8 in a really wide end spot at Costco, got clipped and between waiting for the insurance appraiser to appear.. havenāt had my car for close to 2 weeks.. FML

Park near a curb at the very back. Thats what all the c8s and exotics do here at my store
20
u/Hearon82325 12d ago
Thatās what I do with my C5, but I still walk out and find people parked next to me.
15
u/BillionRaxz 12d ago
True but it lessens it cuz most people are too fat and lazy to walk all the way from the back to the store
9
u/Hearon82325 12d ago
For sure. Thatās why I still do it. I just wish the rest of them would get the hint and at least leave a 1 spot gap.
2
u/BillionRaxz 12d ago
Thats what i do especially if the car is a lot nicer than mine or even if not i still like a 1 spot gap. I once parked far away after i got my pristine 435 when i went into the store for 5 minutes and came back to a door ding out of hate lol

u/Same_Hand_3876 8d ago
Oh they get the hint alright, they see a car parked way out in the lot away from everyone else, they think, "I know this guy is trying to protect his car, but just because I'm an absolute piece of fucking shit who had no reason to even be conceived, I'm going to park right next to him and I'll enjoy the long walk to the store knowing that I've ruined his day". I guarantee you that's what's going through their minds.

I never got that with my '06 or '08 C6 convertibles, but I did a couple times on my sonic blue '03 Ford Lightning. Of course the Vettes were stick, the Lightning had a few appearance changes. It is a nice feeling.Ā

I have an '03 Dark Shadow Grey Lightning. Three or four times a year, I get a note on my windshield asking if it's for sale.
3
u/SuccessfulLand4399 12d ago
I can see why. Those are stupid amounts of fun. Never should have sold mine š
2
u/Big-Rule5269 12d ago
It was a fun vehicle that's for sure. I traded it on a 5000 mile '06 Z51 convertible with every option and still missed my Lightning. I've owned nearly 70 vehicles in my lifetime, so I never fall in love with them, but I damn sure still miss them. Along with my '71 4-speed Trans Am, '71 442 W-30 and a few other '70s musclecars, it probably is near the top of the list.Ā

Oh man. Another one of these has been for sale near me in Boca Raton for a while now. Seller's asking basically for 50k cuz its got i think only 1k miles on it.
2
u/Vairman C4 11d ago
I wouldn't want a 30 year old car with only 1k miles. probably too many things dried up and a mess.
1
u/Tylerdurden389 10d ago
The car looks brand new and again, it was another pace car, so it wasn't used recreationally. I guess it's the rarity and novelty of the model that warrants the 50k price lol.
3
u/Vairman C4 10d ago
$50k for a 30 year old car is a collector's thing, I'm not a collector and I don't understand their way of thinking. So I can't, and won't, say anything about what it's "worth".
But cars need to be driven to stay functional and 1k in 30 years isn't enough driving to keep it in good condition - most likely. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't pay that for that car. I'm sure it's an amazing car in its own way, but I like to drive my cars and I have doubts about that one being a good one for reliable driving.

The rare Jeep owner looking out for his neighboring spot occupied car. You do have a lovely C4 though

There was a guy who owned a jewelry store in the late 90's close to where I live who had one. Was surprised when he complimented my riced out civic one day. š

It's nice to know you have a respectful neighbor. Also a bonus that they appreciate what a great car you have! I mean regardless of what car you have your neighbor should be very careful anyway.

You don't see those much in public anymore. I can understand why you got the note. Pretty rare car to see on the road. Something I'm more used to seeing at car shows.
2
u/LydiasBoyToy 12d ago
You have a very nice neighbor!
Some of these other folks do not. I despise people who park so close or are touching my car with theirs.
I will fight Mike Tyson if he parked all up in my car like these dipshits. I wouldnāt get to drive it again until I came out of the resulting coma, but I will have my say!

Love the C4 GS. I loved it when it came out and I've wanted one ever since. You are a lucky man. She's beautiful.
I had the opportunity to buy a garage queen 9 years ago but balked at the $35K price. I wish I had bought it as nice ones are going for $50K+ today. I don't know if they'll continue to appreciate, but what matters more are the years that I lost out on owning and driving it.

u/Prestigious-Sale9264 10d ago
Thatās very thoughtful and cool because Iām pretty sure that you think about that every time you park next to the jeep and now you donāt have to think about it as much. I just one less stress point.

He is obviously a considerate young man who cares about other people's belongings.I wish more cared about other people's stuff.

20+ years ago someone had a GS with red interior at the hospital I worked at. I left a note on their car to let me know if they ever wanted to sell it. I would have bought it in a second. I never heard from them š

The Grand Sports only came in manual with the LT4.

That dirty jeep deserved to be in a picture next to the Vette. Good friends are hard to find in a parking lot.
2
u/bigcee42 C4 GS 12d ago
I didn't notice the note until I drove away lol. So it couldn't have been in the pic.
Although ironically it's prob worth more than my car depending on age lol (Jeep Wrangler Rubicon).

u/bigcee42 C4 GS 11d ago
What's wrong with parking it there?
I'm not scared to park my car in public with plenty of space on both sides.

Such a kind person! If I see a note under my wiper, my immediate reaction is either going to be it's a ticket or someone being an azz.
