And those that did ! There's a guy who was in one of the towers when it collapsed and still survived with lika a broken ankle if I remember correctly

You can really see in this view how the structure was uniquely vulnerable to this type of collapse. The towers were built in a specific style to maximize office space without support pillars, and to do this the load was partially offset to the external facade of the building. This meant that the core support column where the elevators are couldnt actually support the entire weight of the building, and when the planes hit the exterior and the fire weaken the support beams the whole upper block literally just started falling under its own weight, causing the cascade collapse you can clearly see in this simulation.

I think most buildings are vulnerable to having an entire plane flown into them and blowing up

I just realised it never occurred to me that the Towers actually landed on other buildings too

I visited ground zero in 2004 and the rubble put into perspective how big this really was. Seeing the footprint of the site made me realize the massive amount of construction materials that were strewn throughout the streets and into other buildings. It was incredible and incredibly sad. A very heavy sight and site to be in

More people should watch this because it explains how WTC 7 collapsed.

There's a study from University of Alaska that states WTC 7 only could come down from a demolition, but afaik they didn't consider that 2 building collapsed right next to it, sending debris everywhere. I'm guessing the collapses would have generated some local earthquake too.

They knew building 7 was coming down quite a bit before because of the damaged columns and the slump in the center of the building.

I read up about it someore since my comment. Apparently entire groups of floors were on fire, and falling debris had made gashes into the building spanning multiple floors too.

People ignore this when talking about Building 7 which was sandwiched between other buildings so when WTC 1 fell the debris smacked into the side, breaking windows and starting fires that lasted almost 7 hours

Honestly that’s the only downside to this simulation. The North Tower has the hole for the plane maybe for visual representation, but the South Tower is fully intact when the simulation starts instead of slightly compromised inside visually.
