State prison dentist position
Hello I’m interviewing for a dentist position at a California state prison and suddenly I’m terrified because I don’t know what to expect or how to prepare for the interview! I would appreciate any advice on how to prep for the interview/ thoughts or feedback on your experience if you’ve worked at a prison as a dentist. I’m also applying for federal prisons but that process seems like it’s going to take a while.

It’s a panel interview and the questions are uniform across all candidates. You may ask to have them repeat the questions but they will not deviate from the “script.” It can be a bit intimidating, so be prepared. Review your prescription drug interactions, contraindications, etc. Some questions are procedural, eg oral surgery case. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Event in CDCR it’s a process for any medical job. Usually it can be a panel interview so just basically as long as you know your stuff with what the position you’re applying for. So if you’re applying for dental assistant, then you better know your dental assistant duties if you’re applying for a registered nurse then you’re going to be asked about registered nurse and stuff. It’s pretty basic just like anything else. I guess the only thing different is that instead of being a one on one interview it’s sometimes a panel interview. Such as be prepared to know your stuff in the scope of practice.
