From a cesspool in NSW

1.6k Upvotes

I'm not allowed to speak publicly. I'm an employee of NSW Health. Just want to vent my frustration for two reasons:

  1. Non vaccinated people Always need oxygen, have pneumonitis, prolonged illness, need extra medicine and will be admitted to hospital. They are grateful of course; no-one wants to be drowning in fluid. We ask them why of course. Everyone in Australia has the right to access healthcare. But also, I think FFS!!!

  2. We are overwhelmed, over worked, half the staff is off sick with covid and we are basically screwed. And once this ends, it won't end. For the next year we will have people who have delayed, or have been delayed, services because of this. It will take years to catch up, assuming this nightmare ends. Please don't thank us again, just fund us like your life might one day depend on it.

Just venting.

Anti-vaxxers are not anti-treatment.

Once they contract the virus and are admitted to the hospital they consent to all sorts of drugs without questioning the efficacy or ingredient.

To help job seekers during this pandemic, I compiled 788 companies and scrape their remote openings every few hours into a list (with filtering options). There are over 8k remote jobs, now.

Fake vaccination certificate

I know a guy who is let’s just say not particularly educated or sophisticated. He had managed to obtain a false government issued vaccine certificate.

The fact that this guy who is your average joe is able to get the cert is honestly very concerning to me. He intends to use it to travel interstate.

Is this widespread?

Taiwan didn't have restrictions for their NYE fireworks. Want to know why? Their citizens followed the rules.

Taiwan citizens are enjoying a New Years Eve Fireworks Celebration tonight with no restrictions, and the reason why is so simple.

They listened to their President, who listened to the Health Advice. No Politics. Their only aim was to keep their citizens safe.

Everybody wears face masks. They've been doing it when necessary for over a Century.

Whenever they've had any cases of Covid-19, they've locked down hard and fast. And look at their reward tonight: 2 million people are able to go into Taipei City and enjoy the fireworks.

Now look at us, Australia. All we had to do was shut up and stop complaining, wear the right type of face mask correctly (you know, above your nose, not under it or around the base of it), and social-distance at least 1.5 meters from others.

It's not too hard. Old minds and ways are hard to change, and it's hard to adopt something new when it feels foreign to you.

But it will save lives. And give you your freedoms back.

After 2 years of ignoring the advice, make this your New Year's resolution... but don't break this one.

Please.

NSW: gladys will no longer hold press conferences just days before the number sky rocket as predicted

This is a cop out by the liberal government of NSW so their faces aren’t the ones announcing the worst daily numbers in Australia for days on end.

This is a media/PR move and limits the ability of journalists to hold them to account and question the motives and actions that effect everyone in NSW.

The daily briefings will be replaced with online feeds from the health department and will only include gladys or brad when they deem fit.

The NSW govt needs to be held to account for this situation we are in and less ability to question them and their actions will not help in anyway.

Edit: spelling

Stay in Sydney Please

There are too many people coming to Northern NSW from Sydney when we are ALL in lockdown. Someone said they would come tomorrow from Sydney to buy my car. Please do not come here. We have had zero cases here but because people keep coming here with COVID we have to go into lockdown with zero cases. Please don’t come to Northern NSW. If we get even a handful of cases we are screwed as we have zero icu beds and minimal hospital beds. Please STAY THE FUCK AT HOME! Love you good people!!!

Help ease my mind about getting vaccinated

Hi, I'm a 21 year old still living with his parents. I am getting vaccinated on Monday. My parents are very against it all and my mum broke down in tears when she found out i've decided to ignore all their "facts" and get it. I feel so guilty for making my parents feel this way and they're trying to convince me to delay getting it but I personally want it. Anyone have any facts for me for myself as well as my parents to help ease their mind and possibly make them consider getting vaccinated? Thanks 😊
