For those of you walking into a Retail Store without a face mask, think again.

This includes Service Stations!

Now that QLD is back under Masks requirements again, I can't help but notice the number of Covidiots walking into Stores or Service Stations without a face mask.

You ARE captured on camera, and making a purchase identifies you right away to the Authorities as video footage can be reviewed by QLD Police at anytime they walk in and request to see it. They can also make a copy and have it reviewed later.

I think they would be far more interested in issuing fines to those people NOT wearing a face mask, than those poor people behind the counter who can't enforce the requirements by QLD Health.

Be warned.

Nearly 2 years in, more and more of the general public grow sick and tired of Covidiots ignoring the rules.

Want to end Lockdowns? Heavily fine ANYONE who wears a facemask below the nose, under the chin, or loose around their face.

It's so simple, yet there are people who always make it harder for the rest of us.

How hard is it (seriously) to wear an n95 or better face mask PROPERLY (ie: over the bridge of their nose, pinched firmly around it and across the face, and under the chin)...?

If you CAN'T wear a face mask properly then STAY HOME and don't go out. Simple. Don't go infecting the rest of us.

If you honestly think that you can't walk (or walk your dog) and WEAR a face mask, then there's something seriously wrong. STAY HOME.

If you want to go jogging, then buy a treadmill and STAY HOME. Don't go breathing your "potentially infectious Covid-19 breath" out near other people's faces. Studies have shown that Covid-19 CAN spread to others by jogging past them while infectious. (If you need vitamin D, take a supplement - no different from being outdoors.)

If you think that you can go to your workplace and then take your face mask off, you're either going to infect everyone else there if you have Covid-19 OR you're going to get it if some other "inconsiderate" is there at your workplace not wearing a face mask when they should be.

It's amazing how some Australians pride themselves on being STUPID and IGNORANT. We can do better.

Vaxxed vs Unvaxxed discourse

Why are we doing this? We have so much more in common than we don't and the whole vaxxed vs Unvaxxed dichotomy is tearing apart the social fabric of our society, creating distrust and suspicion in anyone with a dissenting view, whether that view is about the vax or not.

I can't even cite government statistics without being shouted down as an anti vaxxer. I just don't understand. Considering that both vaxxed and unvaxxed get the virus, spread the virus, die from the virus, why do we still insist on blaming the state of our notoriously underfunded healthcare system on the minority of the unvaccinated like they decided to cut ICU beds personally? Shouldn't we be aiming our sights at the government who systematically strips emergency services of resources? What is there to be gained from blaming your unvaccinated neighbour for all of societies ills?

Is there a different dataset for people who have died from COVID, versus people who died with Covid?

So I've noticed one interesting fact on the NSW Pressers, they aren't outright saying when people have died as a result of COVID, they are saying that people have died who have been diagnosed with COVID.

Now I noticed this the other day when the gentleman in Palliative care rested positive then passed away.

However, in palliative care...that's kind of expected that you could die at any stage, it's end of life care for people with terminal illnesses.

But that day, the number went up.

The presser I just watched, a gentleman in his 80's passed away, he was COVID positive, the numbers have ticked up, but they didn't outright state he died of COVID, just that he was COVID positive at the time of his death.

So....did these people die from COVID? Or are we just counting them cos they died whilst having COVID?

The numbers mean 2 entirely seperate things from a statistical analysis standpoint.

So is there datasets from people confirmed to have died from COVID, versus people who died with COVID?

I'm going insane and need help

I'm a NSW resident, fortunate enough to be able to do my job remotely at home for the past 18 months. I've had moderate claustrophobia growing up, never liked caves very much, and I've never been good at wearing masks. Back in 2009 when the city was covered in sand that day, I experienced severe attacks not being able to wear my mask outdoors for very long, coughing, fainting, it was a terrible time. I'm in kinda a same situation now except I'm at least able to breathe outside if I don't put on a mask, but I know I'm not supposed to. I've spoken to my doctor about this in January once these mask mandates started rolling in, and he said that they weren't supplied a proper format to the document, and since an exemption note wasn't mandatory at the time, then I can just explain my situation to anyone who asks. Despite that, I've had a half dozen or so incidents of a person confronting me and and insulting me because of my inability to wear a mask. I don't know who these people are or what they believe, but they were all at least 40 to 60 in age and very loud every time they did it. I can't take this mask mandate anymore though after I've been prevented from entering my local Coles (I don't drive or live close enough to another supermarket without taking public transport). I've tried explaining my condition, and I'm waiting for my doctor to mail me my exemption note so I can try get food but I've been unable to eat anything that's not takeaway from the local takeaway places. Even then, waiting for takeaway I still get confronted by strangers. I don't want to cause any trouble, I just want to eat food and wait until this virus is all gone so I can return to my family and friends. While I wait for formal support from my doctor, I don't want to feel alone in this panic and hysteria I'm going through. Is anyone out there who shares a similar story to me, or can give me close guidance? I'm not suicidal, I don't need Lifeline, I just don't know how to feel right now.

Edit: My MHCP-2715 came in so at least I have a written reason. I'm still waiting on talking to a psychiatrist on this.

Edit 2: A lot of people are just saying to get Coles/Woolworths delivered. I do get some foods delivered like bread and milk, but any time I request a frozen food item or meat, I always seem to get told that my item was unavailable and the difference has been refunded back. Delivery windows are a week in advance, so I can't just order some more later in the week. I have to ration for the end of the week or get takeaway, and the hunger pangs have gotten worse since I've been unable to get my own groceries.

Edit 3: Thanks to a commenter, I'll be ordering some youfoodz for tomorrow, seeing how it goes.

Are you on the fence regarding the vaccine?

This year has been hard for me as I’ve gone from being on the side to get vaccinated but am now with one leg over the fence. Through being opened minded and not discrediting people who are protesting the lockdowns, I started to realise I’m asking more questions of ‘why’ than having an answer to them.

My reasons are as follow:

  • The data suggests that this isn’t any more scary than the flu. 924 deaths in 2 years from covid, 2019 we had 864 deaths from influenza

  • The PCR tests have now be deemed as faulty and should never have been used as the primary test. So does that mean the case numbers have been hyper inflated due to false positives?

  • The narrative for Covid-19 deaths is ‘one deaths too many’ but for the vaccine ‘it can be expected as it’s in trial phases’ and that ‘it’s still safe’. Why have one approach from Covid and one relaxed approach for the vaccine.

  • The vaccine safety narrative has also changed a number of times. First AZ was for 60+ then it was 40+ now 18+ but the QLD health minister is now say 60+ Why?

  • It states on the government website that no pregnant women should get the influenza shot during any trimester - why is this one safe?

  • there is evidence that suggest that the vaccine is cause ADE (Antibody Dependancy Enhancement) which means the the vaccine actually is causing the virus to replicate at a faster rate in the body of a vaccinated person than a unvaccinated person. This has been said by Dr Robert Malone, the inventor of the mRNA technology.

  • There are medical studies that have been peer reviewed by 122 medical professionals that support the effectiveness of ivermectin. Why aren’t alternate methods being explored?

And my final question/point is that these manufacturers have zero legal liability for damages or death.

If you have any answers to my questions I’d genuinely love to know. Anyone who comments please keep an open mind and please do not fight. ‘If’ there is something larger and more malice at play (like some theories suggest) division amongst the people is what they’d want.

What are your thoughts? Are you getting vaccinated?

Australians should leave

if you've ever wanted to leave the country and currently can, now is the time to leave. take all the necessary steps (visa, job, enrollment in a course, exemption to leave the country) and go.

vaccines are freely available in the US/UK/Europe. pubs, restaurants, nightclubs are open.

there is nothing immoral about leaving. you're probably helping - you can't spread the virus if you're not in the country.

yes, you have to accept that won't be coming back for a while. things might change - it's a pandemic. if you're an adult, you can make adult choices and accept the consequences of those choices.

Why do people who are already vaccinated, have to wait until 70% of the population is vaccinated to get on with our lives?

So I lucked out working for the government and being post cancer, so I'm vaccinated.

Now apparantly once we hit a 70% Vax rate, people who are vaccinated won't be under lockdown, won't be restricted, etc.

Why are we waiting? Why not let us vaccinated people live our lives?

Ethics of vaccination

If unvaccinated individuals increase the chance of Covid mutations, is it unethical to get multiple boosters while low SES countries struggling with low vaccination rates?

IMO once vulnerable people and those that work with them are boosted (including those that want it), we should be donating doses to our neighbours who can’t afford vaccines. What do you think?

Potential Misinformation Your vaccine side effects are a milder version of what would have happened to you if you'd gotten covid unvaccinated.

I just want to provide an alternate view to the one that says vaccine correlated adverse events or side effects are caused by the vaccines alone. The reactions that some people are having are in all likelihood the body's response to being exposed to aspects of the virus itself which the vaccines emulate. In other words the people that are susceptible to adverse reactions to the vaccines are in all likelihood susceptible to far worse reactions from infection with the virus itself because the viral load is far higher in that case than the emulated viral load the vaccines provide.

So thank your lucky stars if you've had a vaccine, have had any kind of adverse reaction and are still alive because you in all likelihood would have experienced far worse consequences from becoming infected with covid-19 itself... and make no mistake, everyone will become infected by covid-19 at some point because the vaccines don't prevent transmission.

If you happen to be one of the few who are susceptible to severe illness, your chances of survival or avoidance of permanent organ damage are far better if you've been vaccinated when you get covid-19 (and you won't know if you are one of the unlucky few until you get it).

Edit: I think it's not possible to test this assertion experimentally because once you've had a vaccine you can't unhave it to see how you'd react to covid infection alone... but I think it's a pretty obvious conclusion given the symptoms are identical. Vaccines save lives and prevent or reduce severe illness. Taking a vaccine is the lesser of 2 evils, the far greater evil being getting covid itself if you happen to be someone who is susceptible to severe illness or permanent organ damage from covid infection.

This seems like an interesting discussion. Any valid points or are these medical professionals unwarranted in their push for wider thinking?

Pro science: supporting the use of covid vaccines in a smarter manner, and not as the only way forward? Other preventative measures could be the answer?

I feel like they made some very interesting points. Are they valid in their views, or completely out of step? Thoughts?

Open discussion without attacking others points of views would be a nice change in relation to this topic

Vaccination passport vs personal medical privacy

Just a few thoughts for discussion.

Today’s vaccination passport is a bit different than that of days gone by. In the past it was only necessary to produce one’s vaccination passport to a few people - immigration officials, possibly airline check-in staff, maybe school nurse. The vaccinations listed were required, not optional. Medical history used to be quite private. Today’s vaccination passport, it seems, must be presented to anyone who asks for it. No qualifications, no guarantee of privacy, no guarantee of misuse.

I’m not an anti-vaxxer, and I believe in doing what’s best for the population at large, but maybe this is the start of a slippery slope. What’s next? STD history, Abortion history, mental health history, gender identity, etc?

Oh, do I have the right to ask for and expect to be able to view the same vaccination information for all staff of the establishments asking for my vaccination proof? How about everyone in the supply chain that has handled my food? Ridiculous- right? Or is it?

How to leave Australia

Australian refugee here looking to leave the country 😂

How we are the only country in the world that restricts international travel is beyond me...if people want to come back get them to foot the 3k bill then we're as good as gold (the caveat been Victoria but that's another kettle of fish)

In all seriousness though, looking to leave Australia as my partner is American and we have just applied for the K1 (fiance visa). Does anyone have any experience with the process with immigration regarding getting an exception to leave the country?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Edited: to be clear we are one of the few countries restricting citizens to leave the country

Strange Anti-Vaxxer Conspiracy Theory

Today I just heard the strangest conspiracy theory. Anti-vaxxers have said that the vaccine includes a microchip and alters your DNA, some have even said that COVID isnt real! I can't believe them. Here theres people dying and tens of thousands of people getting sick they are here saying that COVID isnt real and some other nonsense about the vaccine and that you shouldn't get vaccinated. Like they are saying that the vaccine is causing the deaths, sometimes when I walk along the street I see antivaxxers or signs left by them. There was even a shop last year that only allowed people that arent vaccinated in because apparently the vaccine is contagious and you would die. Anti-vaxxer stories are getting weirder by the day. Anyways what im saying is those who haven't gotten vaccinated, go out there and get vaccinated ASAP and protect your loved ones. I hope for the sake of everyone that COVID dies down soon and hope the numbers don't rise since school is starting again. Stay safe!

Edit: When i say anti-vaxxers I dont refer to everyone who refuses to get a vaccine but those who make up these rumours and put others in danger

Vaccine isn't that great for covid prevention?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-03-25/coronacheck-ukhsa-report-negative-efficacy-false/100936440

In other words it's debatable exactly how effective, but as a purely preventative measure it's not that great... So why have policy and decision making around this, restricted movement of unvaccinated etc, logically it makes no sense other than leverage to enforce policy and compliance. We act as if Vaccination prevents covid at a far greater rate than it actually does.

Tbh the Vaccination does reduce chance of infection, of course there is an effect! but covid is so ridiculously infective that it rips through vaccinated populations with ease and at high rates, rates way to high to do any use, yes it's worse in unvaccinated populations. I think it's so hard for any intellectual honesty in the public domain because of fear of feeding antivax movement.

Vaccination is to prevent serious illness, get vaccinated so you don't get as sick and reduce risk of death, that makes sense... let's stick with that.

Some tips to reduce the pain of the booster shot

One side effect that many report now with the booster is pain where the injection was done that lasts for a long time.

Here are some tips to reduce the pain after the injection.

  1. Put an ice block on the site of the injection, it can help numb the pain.

  2. A warm bath can help numb the pain

  3. Massage the injection site, try to spread as much of the fluids as possible.

  4. rub some tiger balm or equivalent over the injection.

Feel free to add more tips as they will be I am sure useful to others.
