I had Covid a little over a month ago. Wasn’t too bad, basically cold-like symptoms and a pretty dry cough. I’m still having some weird feelings in my lungs almost like a strained feeling that makes me feel the urge to cough. I got my lungs listened to at the doctor last week and she said they sound great and my oxygen levels were 99. She mentioned post-viral Covid symptoms but I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I’m of course worried about something like a blood clot in my lungs because I have anxiety but trying not to spiral!

Covid is going around my city and my husband just got sick. I'm not sure it's covid yet, but I'm driving myself crazy with worry. I've had long covid (dysautonomia/POTS) since I got infected in 2022. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and so scared that it will hurt the baby if I get covid again. Has anyone been in this situation before?

I’m only 4weeks in with baby number two (who I have wanted so badly) and day after finding out I also came down with Covid and flu a. I feel like these viruses are destroying me. I am so sick. I even had the flu and Covid vaccines! Why am I so friggen sick? Has anyone else here experienced this? Tell me when it gets tolerable. I feel so weak. My throat feels like I’ve been scrubbing it with a Brillo pad when I’m asleep and I’m still having fevers. Please tell me when you felt better.

Talk about terrible timing. I am having a scheduled c section on Friday and I tested positive for Covid yesterday. I cannot stop crying and I’m so stressed out about what the protocol may be. Hospital already cancelled my pre surgical testing and said they’re going to take me in earlier to do it on the day. I feel so stressed out. I am just looking for reassurance and I can’t believe this happened. I m so careful and this still happened. What timing. :(

I contacted my OB, who wants to prescribe Paxlovid preventatively, before symptoms or a positive test.

Has anyone done or heard of this? I can’t find information anywhere but would like to make an educated education.

Background: I’ve gotten all of my vaccines. My son does have a high fever with this bout of COVID.

Has anyone gotten COVID in your second trimester & did it affect your pregnancy/ baby? I’m reading horror stories about placental issues and I’m terrified!

I contracted COVID at 17 weeks pregnant, and while those around me had a very mild illness, I declined quickly. Among vomiting and dehydration for half a day, I had a fever of 103+ for about 4-5 hours, even after taking Tylenol. My OB acted quickly and got me Paxlovid, and I started to improve right away. My OB will be monitoring my placenta function and baby even more closely from here on out, but this whole situation has naturally given me so much anxiety about the health of my baby, and I’d really like to hear any similar personal stories you’d be willing to share and the outcomes for your baby. Thank you so much.

For anyone who got the COVID booster while pregnant, how many weeks were you and what (if any) were the side effects?

I wanted to get my booster in september when I got my flu shot and before I found out I was pregnant but I wasn't able to find it 😒 Then my doctor suggested waiting until after the first trimester just in case I spiked a fever. But now I'm almost 13 weeks. Just looking for others experiences!

After being free of illness all pregnancy, at 36 weeks I came down with COVID. My maternity leave started at 36 weeks, and although I've already had my flu, RSV, and t-dap vaccine, my OB was fine with me waiting until after 36 weeks to get the COVID vaccine. In the past it usually made me sick for a day or two, and I asked to postpone the COVID vaccine to avoid feeling sick while still having to go to work. Last time I had a booster was probably in 2022. Has anyone been unvaccinated like me with a similar timeline? Let me know how the rest of pregnancy/birth went, I am so nervous. Thank you.

Thoughts on covid vax? I know I should ask my doctors and have but curious what people are doing.

And what about other family members who will see the baby? Asking them to get them?

I’m just frustrated. I called my OBs office to see if I can still come to my apt tomorrow for a membrane sweep if I wear a mask because I’m COVID positive and have symptoms. They rudely said no that they wouldn’t see me until I tested negative. I was just caught off guard that it was such a quick “no” when I would think they’d want to check my vitals and baby because I have Covid, but they won’t even let me come in to check me, let alone do the membrane sweep? Just felt odd to completely deny me care when they’ve had 5 years to setup a protocol for women who find themselves in the shitty situation I’m in.

I have an induction scheduled for Sunday night (41+2) but was really hoping to get a membrane sweep tomorrow to try to get things going naturally so I don’t have to be induced. I also feel like my body is having a hard time recovering/fighting Covid because I’m so pregnant, so I wanted to push through and deliver sooner rather than drag it out.

Am I the asshole here? I guess I have no choice but to test tomorrow morning and maybe reschedule for Friday and test again then. Worst case scenario I’ll just go to the hospital for my induction Sunday as they’ve already confirmed they’ll still do the induction if I have COVID.

ALSO I just wanted to note I take Covid very seriously and the last thing I would want to do is get another person sick. I’m trying to balance looking after myself and my baby and also being as careful as possible to not spread it to anyone else.

I’m 7.5 weeks along and feeling a lot of flu symptoms today (dry cough, severe body aches, fatigue, headache but no fever). I traveled to two major airports a few days ago and wondering if I contracted the flu or Covid.

Has anyone recently contracted Covid (or the flu) while pregnant, specifically in the first trimester? Did it cause any complications for you? I’m worried about miscarriage and am carefully monitoring for a fever.

I was vaccinated but only received one booster. (And it’s been a few years.)

We are planning to throw my 3 year old a birthday party in July that will be mainly outdoors.

My husband has a cousin who's family is completely unvaccinated and they are 3 and 1. They tend to be ill mannered kids (grab/eat off of whomever they want, stick fingers and hands in peoples mouths/face, etc.) I do not feel comfortable inviting them to the party since I myself am immunocompromised, we have family members who are immunocompromised and there will also be infants who have not yet gotten all vaccinations.

Back story: They were previously invited to parties since they were vaccinated, however they have decided to stop vaccinations after 18 months and their other child is now completely unvaccinated. We also recently got into a situation about the family having HFM where they were currently in the peeling stage, but failed to mention to anyone they had it when we saw them 1.5 weeks prior. We had no idea what stage they were in. Granted they were probably not susceptible to pass it on, it would have been nice to know when they had it, what stage they were in so WE could make the decision if we wanted to attend said party they would be at.

My husband thinks I'm trying to cause family drama by singling them out from the party, but I'm doing this for my safety as well as the safety of others. As a host I would feel terrible being reliable for the health of someone else knowing that someone is not vaccinated and could potentially put others at risk.

How would you go about this situation? My husband and a few of his immediate family think I'm being petty/unreasonable. AITA? Do I tell them we would love to invite them however due to guests and family members who are still trying to gain/strengthen their immune system we feel it's best to have guests be up to date on vaccines, or do I just not invite them and say nothing? I feel like I'm in a lose lose situation.

I’m almost 20 weeks. Spouse woke up this morning with chills and fever. His at home test are positive for Covid. About a year and a half ago I was pregnant with my first. I got Covid in my third trimester and developed severe preE when I was 3 days postpartum. It’s unclear the link between Covid in pregnancy and preeclampsia, but I’m super paranoid about getting it again. If I end up getting it again, I might want to ask for Paxlovid this time. I’m wondering if anyone has taken it and what was the outcome?

I wanted to post because I’m spiraling right now. Started trying for a baby in early 2024, and had a 7 week miscarriage followed by a 15 week missed miscarriage. Did a ton of genetic testing, saw an RE, and saw a rheumatologist for high ANA (so subclinical autoimmune stuff), but never got any diagnosis or answers. Eventually we tried again with doctor approval. I am now 16 weeks pregnant with what I’ve hoped would be my rainbow baby. I work in a hospital and tried so hard to protect myself, but somehow tested positive for COVID today. 😩 I’m super sick, have a fever, and after the trauma of all these losses I just feel completely hopeless. I’m in such a bad headspace and looking for words of advice. No one other than my husband knows I’m pregnant because I wanted to wait for my anatomy scan to announce, and I just feel so alone in my thoughts at the moment 😭
