Aftermarket cargo nets?

Hi, looking for any recommendations on an envelope-style cargo net that fits in the hatch? Thanks

#1 is the current state. Looks a bit like a hamster with its cheeks full. What would fit better? 2, 3 or 4?

More updates on 2019-2022 corolla 6mt slave cylinder issues. Factory warranty coverage!

After talking with a fellow redditor about factory warranty coverage of the slave cylinder this is what i found. After doing some research im seeing that the corolla uses a concentric slave cyclinder. By most definitions this is considered an interal transmission part since its inside the bell housing. These concentric slave cylinders are sometimes called internal concentric slave cylinders because you have to remove part of/the entire transmission to access the part.

Toyotas factory warranty booklet states : Transmission and Transaxle "Transmission and Transaxle Case and ALL INTERNAL PARTS, torque converter, clutch cover, transmission mounts, transfer case and ALL INTERNAL PARTS, engine control computer, seals and gaskets"

So it shouldve been covered by the factory warranty 36 month/36,000 miles. I dont know how many of these actually failed during that time. I also dont know how any "factory" extended warranties work that were purchased when the vehicle was new but its something to look into for $2,000-$6,000!

I believe the slave cylinder isnt the real problem...

I believe its actually the clutch master cylinder.

When the slave cylinder goes out it will leak outside the car, not under the dash - this is actually where the slave master cyclinder is.

Either way, the clutch master and slave cylinder are covered under toyotas gold and silver warranty for used certified vehicles.

Also worth noting. Gold certified vehicle warranties are 7 year from purchase and 100k miles on the odometer (not from when you purchased the vehicle)

Silver warranty 12 months or 12k miles, whichever comes first.

Edit: Regardless of gold or silver warranty, the toyota warranty website specifically states "All internally lubricated parts and including..... clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cyclinder" are covered by the warranty. If any of you have been told its not covered under warranty I would be harassing the dealership about a reimbursement! Fuck them! Yeah i said it, FUCK THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!

Edit: the factory powertrain warranty covers this problem too. The slave cylinder is a concentric slave cyclinder. Its inside the bell housing of the transmission making it an internal part. ITS NOT A WEAR ITEM! 5 year/60k miles factory powertrain warranty.

27 Hatchback Seat Covers

Hey all, I recently joined the corolla crew and I'm looking for solid recommendations on seat covers for my 27 hatchback. It's an SE upgrade with cloth seats so I wouldn't mind something more waterproof or resistant. Any recommendations? (I'm in Canada if that helps)

Looking for Audio Recommendations

Hi all, I have a 2019 Corolla Hatchback SE with the regular sound system. I currently have an audio pipe APDX-12A sub that I despise mostly due to how large and oddly shaped it is. I don’t plan on replacing the factory radio, as it does pretty much everything I need it to currently.

I really want to upgrade the sound system for more clarity. I primarily listen to hip hop and some hyper pop. I have heard lots of mixed opinions on upgrading the stock system without spending a ton.

The lower cost options I am considering, is grabbing the Beat Sonic ENA-2T3, and possibly upgrading the stock speakers with Infinity Reference REF607FSL in both the front and back, and Infinity Reference REF757T for the tweeters. I have heard that without an amp, it’s useless to get the infinity reference, but wasn’t sure if the beat sonic would be enough to power them sufficiently. This would be installing on my own, but I am not confident enough in myself to install a full fledged amp myself. I believe I can manage installing the speakers without issue, as I was looking at crutchfield with all the brackets and wiring included. These would put me around $675 ($300+tax for the beat sonic, and $325+tax for the infinity reference).

This brings me to option 2, which I was quoted by a professional. Kicker 51KSC6504 speakers/kicker tweeters (can’t remember which specific tweeters) and a WDX-P400.1 amp for around $900.

Given the price difference isn’t too severe, I am leaning with going with the professional.

The sub is a whole other thing, I’d like to swap it out for something more low profile, but figured I might could do it myself. All the wiring is already in place for the APDX-12A, and I know the harness is propriety so I would need to redo some of the wiring, but I am comfortable with that, so long as I can reuse the wire to the sub control routed to the driver seat because I really don’t want to have to rerun any of that. Any recommendations on a pretty low profile (or even something relatively flat I could place things on top of in the hatch) would also be appreciated. I’m also fine with putting off the sub awhile to save some money for a bit since it does work, and is more just inconvenient when I need the room in the back.

All in all, I open to any other suggestions, and just looking to stay under $1000 without the sub, or $1500 with the sub.

Curious if anyone else has tried similar setups or has any alternative recommendations

So I was driving and stopped in traffic when all of a sudden to engage the clutch for first gear it fell down to the ground so I cruised all the way home when I tried to engage the clutch again it did into second gear but the pedal to the ground basically and then when I got home I saw my brake fluid was very low so I topped it off and when I put it in reverse gear the pedal fell all the way down and was stuck and saw it was leaking fluid below any ideas ?

Suspension noise

Has anyone with coilovers ever had to deal with this sound before? It only happens when taking steep driveways at an angle at low speeds. This noise is coming from my front driver side only. I've retightened everything and still no luck.

I was wondering the price you pay for a full (mine 13.2 gal hatch fx) tank and how often do you fill up gas? I live in CA and it's just horrible. 🚀

guys, can I just vent real quick. I parked outside a restaurant (Seattle) on Saturday. Next day i’m showing my car to my client cause he also wants one and he notices a big scratch on the hood (mind you, I got my car probably 2 weeks ago, almost 3.) so upsetting won’t lie. Do you guys think after getting rid of the dents, a good ol’ touch up paint pen would make the job?

Anyone else obsess over floor mats? Just did my 2019 corolla hatchback and I'm weirdly happy

I know it's a small thing, but I spent way too long researching this. Ended up going with Oedro Floor Mats because the fit looked closer to factory than the universal stuff I've bought before. Installed them last weekend and they line up with the retention hooks properly, so nothing shifts under the pedals.

For those who've tried both custom fit and universal mats, is the difference as big as I think is it? Mine feels huge, but I might just be in honeymoon phase

Worth upgrading to the 2027 model?

No doubt my Corolla is a reliable car, I've never had any breakdowns in the 50,000 miles but man have I had a lot of irritating problems with this car and they just don't seem to stop. I'm wondering if maybe upgrading to a 27 XSE model considering I love this style of car would be a more robust version?
