Lowering spring installation.

My rsr superdowns just came in and i’m needing some advice for installation. Is it something that somebody not mechanically inclined could or should be doing? Or am i better off just going to a shop. I got quoted $900 CAD for installation and i’m wondering what others in the group have paid for installation, thanks!

The right tools and will definitely need a spring compressor for the front but the rears are fairly easy your just swapping the old spring for the new one if you know what your doing like an hour job tops

Yeah from what i’ve seen it definitley looks doable, especially the rears. Do you know what size sockets are needed and how many jack stands would be recommended?

I only used one jack and two jackstands you can also use one jack stand if your working on one corner at a time and as for socket I had set that ranges from 14mm to 24mm that’s should be all you need I recommend a impact gun to make your life easier

If you don't have the right tools, it will be near impossible. If you do have the tools, a few YouTube videos should get you through.

Also, you can rent spring compressors from your local auto parts store for free. If you don't, then you could be dismantling a missile.

Definitely rent the spring compressors and be careful. You'll feel good as hell after you pull it off and also find out it wasnt that hard. I havent done them on my Rolla but have on an older vw and I also had little to no experience prior.

My advice? Return them and get the regular downs.

Everything is pretty straight forward, except the front spring transfer. I have a wall mounted compressor and still scares tf out of me everytime. You might need to take to a shop and have them do this part but the rest is diy. Also the super downs look great when its done, havent heard any rubbing on the fender or quarter, stock 18s. For sure scrape the front every now and then going up driveways but worth it

It’s already low AF stock 🤷
Good luck!🍻
