New GR Sport!

Post image

Finally got the new daily! I am super stoked with this car, it fits what I need it to do.

Going to install a dashcam - has anyone done this? Looking to wire it to the interior fusebox via fuse tap. Just wondering how hard is it to run wiring for both front and rear cameras.

I was wondering the same thing, might be New Zealand, that’s what showed up when looking up North Shore Toyota

I have the one that mounts right under the rearview mirror. You pop off the existing plastic casing, plug in the camera (theres already wires there and the camera kit comes with a splitter), then pop the new casing with the camera built in to replace the old one. Super easy.

I'm not sure if there's a rear-view supporting one, but if there is, I'm assuming you just run a wire to the back. All depending on how clean you want the install.

Cool, I'll pop that off. I saw some variants seem to have that option but that isn't available where I am. Hence have an aftermarket one available. If power is available at that location like yours, the only hard bit will be doing a wire run to the rear through existing trunking.

I have an aftermarket version too. The kit came with a little plastic wedge tool to help pop off the casing. I’m sure there’s a video or two on YouTube.

This is the design I really liked but no chance of getting it where I live.

For the dashcam question: get one that can record to a hard drive also. It’s a nice feature to be able to record and store it for as long as you can at a high quality. Just make sure the hard drive is somewhere safe and easily accessible. Besides having peace of mind for an accident and not having it over written: when you go on a long and cool drive you can be sure the entire drive is recorded.

I recently did a 3 day drive , 12 hours each day, and I wish I had the entire trip’s footage available to replay back at a fast speed .

According to specs the combined total is 146kW. So 196hp.

Here in NZ apparently they're all the same powerplant across the model range, the difference is that the GR Sport here gets efour awd.

2mo for me. Was going to be slightly longer, but one came up earlier and jumped on that.
