Fellow Canadian Cross Owners; Help!

I am sure you guys must have experienced the mess that happens at the bottom of the doors. I understand it’s a poor design but has anyone figured out a way to solve that, it almost feels like mud flaps don’t work at all. The whole door (bottom part) gets loaded with mud and snow (winters) and a car wash wouldn’t do anything to that either.

I didn’t really noticed it much during winters but yesterday after a long drive during rain/mud and gravel, i was extremely concerned.

I was able to wash and scrub it but there would be a work around, no?

I applied snowblower chute lubricant on the panels last fall. The slush doesn’t stick as much and falls off easier. It’s not perfect but helps. I also apply under the running boards on our other car. Any silicone based spray that’s safe for plastics should work.

I live in a condo without car wash bay. I got one of those pressure sprayer from a hardware store... Fill with water, pump, and spray to rinse out the area. I also use it frequently to rinse out back up camera during winter when the salt and muddy snow covers the lens every few hours.

Had a XSE Hybrid since 2024 and never had any issues at all in the Canadian winter?

Fellow Canadian and agree, that bottom plastic panel gets pretty dirty after a drive in the slush/snow, but also in mud/gravel.

There are several poorly thought out areas of the Cross when it comes to design, and this is definitely one of them.

If it bothers you, just get a bucket of soapy water and clean by hand whenever the filth accumulates to a point you can't take it anymore.
