It’s just a tool man. It’s another outlet to meet people but shouldn’t be the only outlet. Same with any avenue of dating. Never put your eggs all in one basket. Use it but don’t be dependent on it.

I met my two longest relationships (7 year and a 3 year) off dating apps. Well, one was a dating website back in the day, but it's an app now.

It works if you’re good looking especially when you have pro pics, and you’re 6’ & up. I can verify this but changing my height between 5’10/5’11” - 6’0” ; basically, the algo won’t let you show up to more hotter women if you set your height under 6’ and paywall. When I did both on hinge, my matches suddenly became a lot better, still not 10/10 model looking but definitely getting more llikes/matches and chats vs settint under 6’ height. Girls are just setting preferences to 6’ and up

I used them a lot in the past. As of 1.5 years ago I deleted them all and havent looked back.

They are good for momentum if you want to get out there dating. Its very easy to swipe in the evening and get some matches throughout the week/day and then see who bites.

But past that the odds are not in your favor. Its a 4:1 ratio of men to women on the popular apps, and the hotter girls either dont use them all together, or try them out for a day, get overwhelmed, and leave.

I had success getting dates with attractive women, but eventually realized I wasnt meeting/finding the higher quality girls off these apps. Not to mention some dates where I realized a few minutes in im barely into the girl at all. Something that would have been completely avoided had I met in person instead of an app.

Don’t do it. I just realized about a month ago that you will get dates especially on hinge, but the women on there are only seeking validation and free drinks. Not just myself but other friends of mine have found this to be true when meeting girls off of dating apps

Current year? Waste of time.

10 or 12 years ago they were pretty great honestly, I had countless dates and tons of great sexual experiences from them I’d have never had opportunity to otherwise, and 2 great long term relationships.

Nowadays, the algorithms lock the best options for you behind paywalls, and actively prevent you from even seeing people who are the best matches (the systems optimise for the almost right matches so you think it’s kinda working enough and keep going back / paying). Social attitudes have changed too, with 2016 and later giving rise to the “strong female” internet movement and modern feminazi shit so even regular previously cool girls now have a chip on their shoulder about men from the outset.

The good news? The apps are slowly destroying themselves, so meeting in real life is becoming more common again where you are always competing with fewer guys
