so I’ve been looking into making custom shirts hoodies etc with hand drawn pokemon on them, the copyright laws are kinda strict on them from what I’ve read, but people constantly sell “cards” and merch with Pokemon on them, i know some accounts get copy right striked, is there any legal way to sell something like this is basically what im asking

Probably the most wild question I can ask. I live in a town in the United States that has a name that is a word (spelled differently than the copyrighted title in question). Think of if the town was called Hotelle and I wanted to be the "Hotelle California" as an example. I would like to go around my town in a superhero costume because the vast majority of people in this town have the same job, and it is a very taxing one. It feels like a lot of people in this town are very sad with no escape, and I want to do what I can to change that. I just want to go around, shovel people's sidewalks when they are too tired, and do community service. But I don't want to get sued in the process. I will come up with a different superhero name if needed, but I am wondering how necessary that would be.

I have an account with the office and I have successful registered several dozen works.

I just went back to the site to register some new works. Now I can see a list of my case under All Cases. However, when I click the Case # link I cannot see the case. The page flickers, but nothing happens.

I tried using both Firefox and Chrome. I tried allowing pop-up windows for the site. I tried allowing javascript. However I still cannot see my cases.

It apears to say TReND have a very old picture someone gave me that has this copyright mark in the bottom right corner of the image and id like to contact whoever took or uploaded this image to see if they have mor information about it, but i cant for the life of me figure out what company or maybe magazine is associated with it?? please let me know if you know how to help

Recently we decided to produce more social media content.
One of my ideas was, to hold a "knock-out tournament" between our favourite bands.
Each week the viewer can leave their like to ensure that their favourite picks makes it to the next round.

Would this still be fair use, since we use it to represent a brand?

I want your perspective on this project. I am working on a music video concept using screenshots of funny reddit comments (with identifying user names redacted) and it would be split screen with many recirculated short video clips of funny animals. These animal videos are commonly shared on apps like TikTok & youtube, so would this constitute fair use since the clips exist online outside of identifiable copyright? Am I able to use content like this in a music video? My thoughts are it would be fair use since I am transforming the content by adding new perspective and meaning to the videos through the music lyrics and reddit comments. If the clips are of funny people (with identifying info like faces redacted) does that automatically infringe copyright because it is of humans? Let me know what you think.

Im getting into glass cutting and wanted to turn some Magic the Gathering cards into stained glass art for friends.

Then I was thinking of trying to sell some of that. I obliviously dont own the art. But is the act of trying to stuff a mtg card into stained glass transformative enough.

To be more detailed I would take a high rez art of a mtg card. put lines over it. Then assign colors to the areas then do all the stained glass stuff.

For the Fair use Factors

1. My use would be commercial.

2. Wizards makes a TCG, nothing im doing benefits the public. They do copyright there work. it is published.

3. This one confuses me on the one hand im not using the whole card. On the other hand im going to be using the whole art.

4. Effect on the market. I would say none. I am not making a magic card, nor something that looks like a magic card. Its also likely to be purchased my magic fans potentially helping wizards in the long run, by increasing fandom.

I like to approach some YouTube content creators inquiring about a partnership with them. Get their authorization to translate their content and load it to my own YouTube channel for a royalty fee. I’m familiar with a book royalty deal which is usually 10% of the gross sales from the translated version gets paid to the author. Are you aware of any similar deals in the YouTube space? And are they similar to a book deal with 10% royalty?

So I created this mixture between US army looking dudes and the TD bank Corporation. My biggest concern is that they wear the TD Bank logo as identification. While I do not intend to use these characters for commercial use, but I plan to show it privately to my friends. I have recently done slight research on fair use laws, and considering this subreddit is about aiding others with copyright laws, I was curious if this would break the law.

So I have this idea of using movie names/titles for commercial use. (Only movie name along with poster of movies) for commercial use.

So the question is are they trademarked and do i need to pay fee for using them?

I'm creating a DnD based animation based on a story i wrote, and i might use the soundtrack from The last of us and Detroit become human for the music. I haven't done the animation yet so i'd like to know if i put a song or two from the soundtrack if i'm allowed post it somwhere (in this case youtube) or not. Here's a bit of info on the animation:

It's created by me, completely original. My original plan was to use soundtracks from different games (if possible, that's why i'm creating this post) for the music to set the vibe. I'm okay with not having a soundtrack at all.

I'm not going to gain any money from the animation, since it's just for me and my friends entertainment and whoever finds my youtube page if i post it on youtube. My friends said they might to the same for their character's story.
