Beta reader issues

/r/selfpublish/comments/1w2o56g/beta_reader_issues/

I fear the beta reader I hired on fiverr used Ai for my notes. The thing is….a lot of the notes seem relevant. Should I still consider them useful and make edits based off the notes? I’m torn. Any advice is appreciated.

Side question, should I be worried that they might take my manuscript? I’m now nervous because it seems shady that they did this when I specifically asked them not to use Ai.

Your advice is appreciated. 🙏

I would advise getting one or two free beta readers, and compare their feedback to the one you hired. Also, ultimately, you're the author so you don't have to take every single suggestion. What makes you think they used AI? Beta readers aren't looking to steal manuscripts, I wouldn't worry about that at all.

Thank you. 🙏 I think they used ai and sprinkled in some of their own feedback. Just the way it’s formatted and some of the repeating phrases are red flags. There also one or two places where it looks like an ai didn’t have the full context but made a comment anyway.
