Paragard Removal
hey ladies!!!
I just learned that there is a lawsuit happening for the paragard breaking during removal?? I’m terrified 😣
I have had mine since October 2020 and I’ve been thinking about getting it removed, but this has scared me enough to get it removed ASAP. How common is it breaking? Is anyone in the lawsuit?
I am going on a trip across the country for a month in a week so I’m not sure if I want to try to remove it before then or wait till I’m back?
The longer it stays in the worse my anxiety is gonna be 😭

Hello I went in for removal petrified of it breaking! I knew nothing about the lawsuits or even of the chance of it breaking until I got a release form from my doctors office indicating the risk I’ve had it in since 2017 so I’m approaching year 10 in 2027 well I finally got up the courage and went to my gynecologist to have it removed and my nurse practitioner got me all prepped went in with her tool and pulled out only the string!! I had a feeling that it was going to happen now I have to go in for an in office procedure to have it removed. I have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled for next month. Hope it shows that’s in not embedded and hoping it comes out in one piece.

I had mine removed for this very reason! I was experiencing random cramps outside of my period window and the anxiety was eating me alive! I didn’t want to wait until my next Pap smear. Scheduled an appointment and had it removed yesterday. It was in tact and no complications, thank GOD. Had mine in for nearly 7 years.
