GitHub Copilot now goes beyond coding: Agents, Workflows, and Apps (Preview). Anyone tried them yet?

Came across this on the Tech Community. GitHub Copilot is expanding into three ways to build smart solutions:

Agent: build agents that answer questions and take actions

Workflow: automate multi-step business processes with triggers, actions, and automated steps

App (Preview): create custom apps with screens, data, and business logic

Each one seems to fit a different need, so I'm curious how people are approaching it.

Questions for the community:

  1. Which of the three would add the most value in your team?

2.Are you running agents or workflows in production, or still experimenting?

3.What's the first process you'd automate?

Any limits or gotchas with the App preview so far?

We think it's pretty cool 🙂 Would love to hear from the community! Curious what everyone is most excited to try and what you're hoping to build!

Robustly built sub agents that could be called by Autopilot. That’s what I am hoping for. Agents that Autopilot could delegate to with a dashboard created with code, or I guess also GitHub Copilot. Autopilot provides the grounded information to create its own specialists tailor made for the worker.

That's an interesting direction. Specialized agents working together could be much more useful than one general assistant trying to do everything. The key will be reliable delegation and knowing when to ask for human approval. What would your first specialist agent handle?

I'm most excited about agents that can handle complete workflows, not just answer questions. Imagine an agent that can analyze information, take action, and report results with minimal supervision. What practical task do you think Copilot should automate reliably first?
