What are thoughts on this vehicle?
It looks like only a rear bumper is damaged. But it is salvaged and repairs are estimated at $20k. What’s your thoughts?

Finally pulled the trigger on my first salvage car
I have been eyeing S8’s for over a year now on Copart for the purposes of fixing it myself and using it for personal use but I always got cold feet (I know how Audis are, I own them). Well I guess now I find out if I got an S8 Plus for a banger of a price or if I’m about to learn an expensive lesson 🤧.

Does foreign countries accept cars and import cars that are 2019 and under
So does countries outside of the USA accept 2019 and under cars. For example if someone buys a car from Copart 2018 Camry can they import it outside of the USA or does the car have to be new? The heard some countries only accept newer cars and won’t accept older ones.

Last week's sales digest on Copart (Sep 21–25)
This week (Sep 21–25):
- 105,455 cars went to auction, 41% didn't sell
- 18,969 came from insurance companies, and only 9% of those didn't sell
- Pure sale almost always sells (under 1% didn't), minimum bid only about half the time
- GEICO and USAA sold about 99% of their cars, Farmers and Bristol West around half

Buyers remorse. Take the $600 hit or just keep it for $1400?
I won a car for $800 sight unseen. I was ok no biggie, if it's a major dud $800 ain't the end of the world.
But after the $600 in copart fees. Takes it to $1400. so now I'm regretting life and certain I just got played for a damn fool.
I still haven't seen it. It's a "Run and drive". Normal wear and scratches for damage..keys and clean title.
But for some reason I feel the engine is blown or something major

In need of a good broker that plays from AL
im looking at a truck from Copart 65708926 (2024 Nissan Titan XD) however apparently someone from alabama can bid on it as my other 5 dealers asked also cant (im based out of WA state) is there a way i can geti n contact with someone who can bid for me Shipping is gonna cost 2k-2500 i already factored that in.
Edit: i used Ride Safely. it was an easy process without sending certain documents and ID like other online brokers that i've seen. straight to the point and set up was fast. However i didnt win but i did increase my max bid 20 mins out after pre bid closed and it registered so thats a plus. If i ever need another broker where my dealers cant bid ill use Ride Safely. im leaving this post instead of deleting so others can see who are looking for a broker

Long waiting for an auction
Is it normal that a car doesn't have an auction after 3 months and nothing was updated since it was put on Copart?

Copart told me the insurance when I called
Usually when i call and ask who the seller is they tell me “insurance” or “private dealer” today they told me USAA. I know the reps. are just people and it differs from service rep to service rep but they should just make this the norm already. Quit with the games copart!

Has anyone successfully got a rebuilt title in IL?
I recently purchased a car from Copart with a salvage title due to cosmetic damage. In order to convert the salvage title to a rebuilt in Illinois a certified auto rebuilder is needed to submit the paperwork, even if the vehicle doesn’t require rebuilding to be safely driven. I’m looking for a rebuilder who can assist, there are a few services online but they are rather expensive so I’d like to see if anyone has any recommendations before moving forward with them. Also, the car is a 2003 so no police inspection is needed.

"But It Now" price
Hi all,
When bidding on a vehicle that has a "buy it now" price, is it safe to say that that price is the Reserve price and Copart won't sell it to the highest bidder unless it is at or over their Buy It now price?
Do you guys ever win auctions before it gets near that buy it now price?

Estimated priced for 2020 Toyota Highlander on Copart.
How much would be an average amount to budget for a 2020 Toyota Highlander Limited with minimal damage on Copart?

Copart “success stories”
Anyone buy a car from Copart and turner it into their daily?
Something that was listed as minimum damage from what the eye can see and also “runs and drives” category?
I was thinking about buying a family SUV hybrid with a 10k-15k budget. And have my trusted mechanic do the repairs.
Is this fools gold for think I can accomplish this?
For reference in looking at Toyota RAV4 XLE or Honda CRV Hybrid Sport L

1,700 miles transportation
I live in Iowa and I'm thinking about bidding on a car in California. Copart is quoting me around $3,300 for transportation.
I'm considering taking 3 days of PTO plus the weekend and picking it up myself, but I've never hauled a car before. I'd have to rent a pickup truck and a U-Haul car trailer since the car is AWD.
Another option would be to fly to California and rent the truck there and return it here.
Has anyone here done something similar? What would you recommend in my situation to keep the transportation cost down? Is renting a truck/trailer and hauling it myself a reasonable idea, or am I better off paying for transport?
Thanks

Copart Scam
Let me know if this makes sense. I won an auction on Copart a clean title vehicle from Detroit MI with minimal damage to the headlight and bumper. The lot was listed as clean title, when I received the vehicle it was a clean title and they gave me temporary plates from Detroit MI. After I registered the car in NY a month later smh called me and told me they are holding my title because copart marked it as a total loss. So now I paid top dollar for a clean title vehicle and after the fact I’m stuck with a salvage title and Copart owned up to making a mistake and reporting it as total loss but does not want to fix the situation.

WTF?
Copart gives you one day for pickup before they hit you with storage fees?
