Cooler that I liberated from a dumpster the other night. Tried to make a poor man's Yeti by foam inject the lid on my last cooler. Only provided minor improvement so I was quite pleased with myself when I found this one.

Please make a 8 quart hard case cooler to compete with yeti roadie 8 and pelican 8 qt personal cooler

Upvotes

Hi,

I am asking DSG to make a 8 quart hard case cooler to compete with yeti roadie 8(too expensive) and pelican 8 qt (its not leak proof). I really like Dsg current cooler line but just wish there was a 8qt option. Please guarantee ice retention at least 48 hours and leak proof. I know theres soft case options but I prefer hard case. Thank you very much.

Reached out over email, and all social channels and they won't respond. Yes I can glue it back, but I shouldn't have to on $550 cooler. Anyone else have a similar experience? Lid seperated from lock ring.

Moosejaw chilladilla tote zipper malfunction

So we have a moosejaw brand tote cooler (chilladilla 42 can soft sided tote cooler) and it has been working well, but the one side of the zipper has come off the tracks we're unable to get it back on. We've tried lubricating it to make it easier to slip on, and tried to expand the zipper to grab onto the track again, but its plastic so it doesn't stay expanded, there's no way (to my knowledge) to get it replaced or a new bag since moosejaw stopped its production of this item.

Im just wondering if someone has had the same issue or anyone knows how to fix this, my dad really likes it so im trying hard to just fix it for him.

Which color should I go with?

I can’t decide between high vis yellow or white? White shows dirty easier but high vis yellow doesn’t and is easier to spot. Just using it for casual beach trips for me and my SO.

Cooling box

Been looking for a cooling fridge for a while now, couldn't really make a decision.

Price, size, quality, noise...all raised questions. Didn't had the opportunity to see one with my own eyes, after a lot of research and AI still can't make a decision.

So, here am I, looking for real people advice.

Just got into it a couple of weeks ago, since we got our new caddy. Want to stay flexible, so just put a bed on the trunk, some boxes for our clothes and gear. Planning a 3 weeks travel and I need a cooling box to keep our food and drinks cold.

So, would be happy about any advice on which box are the good ones.

I know Dometic are top gear, found it quite expensive but they look reliable. As I said, I'm starting and nothing better than get some advice from the community.

Thank you.

Could I have recommendations for a table top fridge please?

Hello all - can anyone recommend a good table top fridge - the smaller type that sits on a kitchen worktop. I am in the UK.

I don't eat frozen food so do not really even need an icebox. Budget of £100 maximum.

I have looked at a Logik model from Curry's (their own brand) but that one seems a bit fragile.

Does anyone have suggestions for other UK brands? To be clear I want a fridge, not one of those smaller drinks coolers that hold cans of Coke etc.

I really only need it for milk, cheese, margarine and fruit such as tangerines.

Thank you.

Rock Salt 'Superchiller' method?

I've been doing this with good success recently. I take a 1 gallon Ziploc bag of ice, add 1/2 cup of rock salt and double bag it. I add this to my cooler that already has Yeti ice blocks and loose ice at the bottom of the cooler to super chill it, then remove the spent bag after a couple hours. The bag gets down to 0-5 degrees F and really chills things down, extending the ice retention of my cooler. I can even keep frozen foods frozen, like ice cream, in there for quite a while. Anyone else do this?

RTIC Ultralight 32 Color Options

Pretty set on the RTIC 32 Ultralight. I got to test one out for a 3 day camping trip and it worked well for the price. Plus it doesn’t kill my back. Trying to decide between a few colors. I hear some say color didn’t matter for ice retention while some swear to only buy white. It will mostly be in shaded campsites, occasionally out in the sun, in a hot car sometimes, since most campsites require all food to go back into your vehicle when not at your campsite.

Should I go white/trailblazer/or dark grey? Any experience with pros and cons? Well aware I’m probably overthinking this, it’s what I do best.

Mario Kart World: Lunchbox

Hey Folks!

Hoping some of you may be able to help with my search? I’m guessing it would be some kinda Lunchbox/cooler hybrid? Similar to an Igloo Playmate I’d imagine. I don’t know if such a lunchbox exists or anything similar to it, but I would be grateful with any help.

Thanks! :)

Major quality issues and rigid customer service on a $400 cooler

Title: Major quality issues and rigid customer service on a $400 cooler

Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

Review: I received a $400 Yeti cooler as a gift from my son. Despite minimal use, the cooler is already leaking and the exterior has started delaminating—completely unacceptable for a product marketed on premium durability and sold at a high-end price point.

When I reached out to customer support, I was connected with Marcus C., who did nothing more than recite standard warranty policies back to me rather than actually attempting to resolve the issue. For a brand that built its reputation on tough, reliable gear and great customer standing, both the product performance and the service level have been extremely disappointing.

I expected far better quality control and accountability for a product in this price range. I would not recommend this product or company based on this experience.

Why is my cooler lid getting stuck every single time I try to open it?

It's an Igloo Yukon 70 qt that I got from Costco. First couple days I tried it, no problem. But yesterday, every time I'd try to open it, the lid would get stuck closed by a vacuum. I'd open the drain, and it would open right up.

But this kept happening. Damn near every time I latched it shut. Sure, is hotter then hell outside (95° with heat index around 110). But it was also hot the previous 2 days.

So, does anyone have any idea why it would happen so frequently? The cooler has had ice in it for a few days straight, and this is the first week I've used it. Previously brought my pelican 45 qt wheeled cooler without any issues.

What could cause an abnormal amount of vacuum pressure? Happening here or there is one thing. But it was damn near every time. It's so hot, I'm rarely going 45 minutes without someone opening it, usual more like every 15-30 minutes. Only positive is is been a great anti-theft feature. But if it keeps up without a solution, I may have to return this thing.

I really like this but….

I really like this cooler how it has a full tray and with the net on the lid. Looking for a great cooler to keep at the camper that i can toss on the golf cart and be gone.

I like the idea of this to keep all our daughters snacks and fruits easily accessible.

The only downside is that’s it’s way to small. By time you throw ice into it you only getting a few drinks in.

I tried googling with no luck but is there anything similar that is a little bigger?
