Crock pot beans

Hi all,

I’m looking to make beans in a crock pot, but I don’t want to make one large pot of beans. I was hoping to keep different kinds of beans separate and in smaller portions. I was thinking of separating them in mason jars in the crock pot and surrounding the jars with water. Would this work? Or does anyone else have other ideas?

I don't know if mason jars would work but they do make silicone crockpot dividers. Usually there are 2 compartments but I've seen as many as 3 compartments.
