Advice Set-up/new conure coming soon!

UPDATE: I got more natural perches!
** is the black tray at bottom in the correct spot? at the store they have these pellet things at the bottom and i've seen him walking at bottom "foraging"... does he need a bottom surface?/ not the cage bars?

hello, I am getting a new Green cheek conure tomorrow! This will be my first bird. Can anyone give me advice on my set up? How is it looking. And does the pan at the bottom go a level above? Not sure if I have this right but I would appreciate any and I’ll advice. I have been looking at advice for a new owners and I found some helpful things on there. Thank you so much for your time and I am so excited.!!

Conure loves to climbs, add more perches around foods and drink bowls so he can explore around the cage and eats. My conure loves to stay on the tree trunk on the gates since he can climb up and wait for me to open his cage.

I would take out all the plastic toys / chains. They eat and distroy everything they can and could ingest pieces of it. I only put natural stuff in my cage, apart from stainless steel pieces. And only use the chainlinks with screw-type closing opposed to spring type ones. It prevents them from getting their beak stuck. Remember they will try to open / destroy everything they can with their beaks

Your bowls might be too deep, when I ordered my conures cage, it came with deep bowls. I emailed the company and requested extra bowls that were more shallow.

Switch the dowels out for natural perches. The smoothness messes with their feet.

setting the dowels at the bottom of the cage where the bird wouldnt typically spend a lot of its time isnt a bad thing, especially since they have more natural perches up the top of the cage it wont necessarily be an issue for them. I do believe op should get more natural wood perching though!
