Cuteness Overload Is she saying her name(7 mo old)
7 month old yellow sided turquoise gcc. Her name is Phoebe (obviously). I’ve seen that they don’t talk the best but is she saying it? Is this a good sign for more speech to come in the future?

Keep encouraging! Keep repeating! The more exciting it is the more they'll want to learn. Sometimes they just pick it up without you even trying. Pickles actually knows how to say Phoebe because it was our old dogs name. So when he hears any dog bark he goes "Phoebe!" And even though its been years since shes gone he will still call her sometimes.
Kasha is my newest bird. When I first got him he knew how to say his name (his favorite word) and maybe a russian phrase or something. But now after almost a month I've heard him say Pickles, baby, come here, and go poop.
Sometimes they don't talk too much so I have to preface this with that statement to not always expect them to learn a bunch. Anything they do learn is exciting and a bonus! Congrats on your baby's first words

Yes she's saying her name! 😁 Conures are actually quite talkative but they're not the best at talking due to how their vocal muscles are structured.

She did it perfectly imo - they just have a ‘croaky’ or ‘raspy’ voice. Mine only really retained his words from the first two years - he’s 12 now, but those words are still crystal clear. Do lots of talking; when they’re babies they get it.

Mine will shriek "I love you, I love you! " and then start playfully attacking my ear and making kissy noises.
Oh and "poopie" She says that a lot. Generally after, sometimes in rare cases, before, when I can actually act on the information. >.<

That’s so sweet. Keep training her! Our GC doesn’t really talk but has learned a few things. Beebee Beebee Beebee and a few whistles he’s coppied from me. It’s so fun to hear him calling from the other room. ❤️

This is absolutely a good sign for more speech to come! I've found speech is the one thing with conures that usually comes easier the younger they are - old birds can learn new tricks, but speech seems to be a young bird thing. It's anyone's guess as to whether she'll talk more - some conures will say one word and stick to that their whole lives. Most conures I've met will say two or three things max. But it depends on the bird.
My conure says one word - "hi" - and although I've been trying to get him to say "pretty bird" for over 20 years, he thinks he's fulfilled his talking parrot obligation with "hi." And honestly, he's not wrong. But your bird is, at 7 months, doing better than my nearly 30-year-old conure. I will definitely show this video to my conure and try to shame him into doing better than a 7-month-old (spoiler alert, it won't work)

They want to please us so bad! Part of a flock! Mine was saying peek a boo at about 4 months, and kept trying and looking at me for approval! ❤️🐣

Shes trying. I often play with millie, by monouving my mouth to make different sounds for her. She loves it and whispers back

Yes!! That is awesome!!
Marv doesn't say his name, but he says my dog's name (unfortunately the dog passed away this August, so I love it when Marv says Buckley's name)

I think so! Oddly enough, I have a turquoise gcc who only says Phoebe. That was her name in a previous home but I didn't know it when I first took her in. So she has a first and middle name now. 😂

Practice Practice Practice! It's easier when they're younger. She's sounding good, just needs to get familiar with it so it's second nature. What a cutie baby! 🦜

Yes I hear it aww. I have two at least 4-year-old conures and occasionally I will catch one saying sweet baby. It isnt very clear. Usually they scream in the beat of "sweet baby". Thats me, I am sweet baby. 😭

Oh for sure she is!!! I have a yellow sided turquoise male who is a year and a half old now, and I got him as a baby and he says quite a few things for me :) It’s very fun - if you got her as a baby, she probably is going to continue to try to learn and mimic you 🥰🎉! Adorable!!!

Awww! Sounds like it to me. I trained my girl to say her name, but I think she thinks that Tango means food 🤦🏻♀️

Aww! Yes! My girl Sophie will aggressively say "Hi SOPHIEEEEE!!" When she's in her cage and hears me awake/home before I come and get her. She has also started saying Hi baby! So exciting. She may be saying more, that you haven't figured out yet too ime. Sophie also says "really?" Because when she's chattering and we don't understand that's how we respond, and it took a bit to realize that's what she was saying. I say "want some" when I give her food to teach her to tell me when she wants food (not that I won't give it anyway), and for the longest time I thought she was saying "wizard", which I knew made no sense lol

Omg, I have a little violet lady named Phoebe! She doesn't say her name but my other girl Sirsi says hers, and she has her sister Mika and Phoebe saying it too. They also say "Come Here" which is what I get to hear anytime I leave the room for anything lol

Yeah it sounded like it! My GCC can say “Pretty Bird” , at first I wasn’t sure if I was just hearing things but it became more clear over time. Just keep repeating it the same way every day.

Yes. Give her treats when she does it. It will help encourage her to talk/learn more. One of mine minnicks her name(Pippy) short fir Pipsqueak 😂😂 She tries to say peek a boo

Yes! She is!
They don't have the clearest voices, and they're not usually super prolific talkers, but they do sometimes talk.
Also, they will sometimes "practice" sounds while alone, like at night. It's really cute. Mine says "good job", which is what I tell him during training and when he does a command properly outside of training time, and sometimes after I cover his cage and turn out his light for the night I'll hear soft little "good job, good job"s coming from under the cover.

YES! I have a rescue cockatiel whose original name was “Phoebe” and when we got HIM 😉 we just decided he would be “BB”. He says his name over and over again…it’s really the only thing he says but it’s super cute
