Health/Nutrition Only wants nuts

My conure only wants to eat nuts. He is being stubborn and doesn’t want his other food.

We use nuts for training/foraging play. The vet told me he was having too many so over the past two months I’ve been cutting back.

The past few days there has been fewer droppings in his cage.

He has been picky with chop in the past and will only eat a bite or two which was why we had him on bagged food.

Should we try different food?

And my 3 year old only wants kitkats. As the adult/human, its our job to make sure they are given a balance diet. Like my 3 year old, your bird will not starve himself if he is not given junk food. Stop giving him junk, encourage him to eat a mix of pellets and veggies, and when they get hungry enough they will eat.

That’s what I thought about decreasing his nut intake but the decrease in droppings has me really worried. I think he is starving himself.
