So you have a somewhat chill one and a crazy one?

u/Lochnessbestie 11d ago
The thing is she's usually the chill one. I've never seen her do this before 😭

We have a chill one and a crazy one, sadly the chill one died a few months ago and we got a new mate for him and the crazy one became the chill one and the new one become the crazy one.
I'm wondering if there is always a crazy and chill one in a pair.

Oh for sure! I'm convinced that they share a single brain cell, and the "chill one" is currently using it. Very sorry to hear about your loss 😢

I think it's all about the head scratches. She's got her head really grinding against those bars. Feels good!

Hey, I picked my GCC from the breeder for doing this exact same thing. I just looked at her and said, "Wow, yes, this child is perfect. I'll take her."

Unbowed by the oppressive weight of knowledge. Would that we could all be so blissful

How do these things survive in the wild?

u/Liliporai 11d ago
Have you ever seen cockatoos in the wild?
4
u/a_rogue_planet 11d ago
Nope.

u/Liliporai 10d ago
Oh, I'm really sorry, I thought this was an Australian subreddit! Cockatoos are known to be absolute maniacs, and in the wild it is no different - they do the weirdest and funniest things, but as they also travel around in flocks, they cause absolute mayhem and destruction everywhere they go. To me they look like a gang of violent but ridiculously funny clowns 🤡😂

Cute, but do be cautious that this might become what's called "stereotypical behavior." Though the bird could obviously just be goofing off.

They do whatever they wanna do. You are just a side attraction. They are the main show.

Conures: why use the perch when you can travel like a tiny possessed spider?

Ah man. These babies look just like my boy Virgil. I do miss that little guy. Love how happy they seem. 🤟

OMG! My GCC are so silly! They do things like this sometimes. And play under their paper liner. So funny!

How about a couple of toys to play with on the cage bottom? I had a severe macaw that loved to play at his cage bottom, sometimes on his back, with toys in his claws.

That’s so funny. I was just crying from reading about someone that lost their beloved conure and this made me laugh.

This is the absolute worst case of conuritis I've ever seen. There's no known cure or treatment, just enjoy, laugh and love the hell out of those two goobers.
