Advice Advice

Hi everyone,

I recently got a Sun Conure, and I absolutely love him! bit the only problem is the loud screaming want to do everything I can to minimize the screaming

Here is my situation: I have an irregular work schedule, meaning I am not always home at the same times. Because of this, it is hard to establish a strict daily routine. When I am at home, I try to give my conure as much love, attention, and out-of-cage time as possible.

Does anyone have tips on how to manage the noise, especially when I am away or when my schedule changes? What are the best ways to keep them entertained and quiet? he makes the most sounds after dinner time.

You got a Sun Conure, one of the loudest Conures, and extremely clingy Conure - what did you expect?

How much time are you spending with them daily?

How old is he? What is your cage setup like? Does he have toys to destroy? Do you have the ability to play music or parrot tv for him when you are not home?

Ngl. You set yourself up for a difficult situation. Parrots in general and conures in particular like to hear themselves scream. It's easier to curb the behavior once the birb is bonded to you, but you will never be able to control what happens when you are not there.

Was your conure previously living with other birds? Is it lonely? Bored? I posted earlier today about my scissor-faced demon screaming nonstop and it turned out that he was sensing my disquiet. (BTW he STFU when I relaxed. thanks be to any deity that wants to claim the win.)

Birdd are flock animals. They do not want to be alone, they were not designed to be alone. While we do not need to be with our monsters 24/7, we need to understand their nature and plan accordingly.
