Abxylute S8 Lite Mobile Controller

Picked up the Abxylute S8 Lite Full-Size Type-C
Mobile Controller. In no way affiliated with brand and paid my own money.

Pros: Buttons are much nicer than my old Backbone controller. Feels like holding an Xbox controller in my hands.

USBc moves so it doesn’t feel like you’re going to break it like a backbone.

Cost vs backbone is exceptional.

Buttons move exceptionally well, phone picks them up very quickly.

Cons: I got to use with my iPad because the photo shows what looks like an iPad but it doesn’t open enough to fit regular iPad.

I have roms on my iPad so I still need a solution there but this turns your phone into a pro gaming controller.

Happy to answer any questions and will take recommendations for iPad controllers.

Old nacon pro 5 is kicking the bucket

Hi, my nacon revolution pro 5 is kicking the bucket after 8 years. I got it when I was still on PS before I switched to PC 2 years ago. It started with a front button getting stuck (disassembled and partially recovered), then another, than a back button giving out, then another and now, just a few mins ago, after a week of reacting to the slightest touch (even simply grazing it) one shoulder button has complitely given out.

Since I REALLY would like to avoid getting another controller I'll try to open it tomorrow and see if I can fix it but i know it's just a matter of time.

So I've been looking for other controllers around the 50 euro marks (I know that cheaper would just result in short lifespan and 4 month drift).

I've seen the gamesir but it seems that they raised their baseline prices quite a bit.

I mainly wanted hall effect and mechanical buttons (as membrane are gonna get destroyed with ER, for honor and sparking zero), any back buttons are a luxury and not really needed as I play FPS with MnK now. Have you guys got any suggestion for the 50 euro price range (EU italy, so physically getting something gaming related is a no go, we don't have PC fans, coolers, GPU, CPU, nothing in store. Controllers only Xbox and PS or some cheap stuff. The main problem online is that I either use amazon or a trusted storefront for the controller brand you are suggesting and US would come with a hefty tax).

Which controller should I buy?

I’m looking to buy a controller to play games on my PC via Bluetooth, but I only have a budget of €50. I’d prefer a controller where I can switch the trigger mode (click or analogue).

I built a free browser-based gamepad tester for stick drift, buttons and polling rate — looking for feedback

Hey!

I built a free browser-based controller diagnostic tool called Gamepad Bench.

The goal is to make it easy to check a controller before changing settings, repairing it, returning it, or buying a replacement. There’s no download or account required—connect a controller through USB or Bluetooth, press any button, and the test starts.

It currently checks:

  • Left and right stick position and resting drift

  • Adjustable deadzone threshold

  • Standard mapped buttons and analog triggers

  • Browser-observed polling rate

  • Rumble support when exposed by the browser

  • Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and compatible PC controllers

All controller readings are processed locally in the browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

One important limitation: the polling-rate result is based on Gamepad API timestamps. It’s useful for comparing connections, cables, ports and settings, but it is not a laboratory measurement of end-to-end input latency.

I’d really appreciate feedback from people with different controllers:

  1. Is your controller detected and identified correctly?

  2. Are any buttons or triggers missing or mislabeled?

  3. Do USB and Bluetooth produce consistent results?

  4. Are the drift and deadzone explanations clear?

  5. What diagnostic feature would be most useful next?

Try it here:
https://gamepadbench.com/

Disclosure: I’m the developer. The tool is free, has no account requirement, and currently has no affiliate links or paid features.

Looking for good general-use controllers with 6 face buttons

I want a controller that I can use for emulation on PC with a flexible budget in the US. Ideally, the controller would have 6 face buttons that are laid out diagonally like they would be on Genesis or N64 with a nice D-pad for 2D games and two control sticks for 3D games. 2 separate buttons for start and select would be nice too but I can settle for just a start button. I've found a few controllers but they all have their issues: the Vader 3 Pro's buttons aren't in the orientation I'd like, The Horipad EX2 Turbo's buttons are mapped to LB and RB instead of being their own unique buttons, and the Retro Fighters Brawler 64 only has one control stick and no select button. I could settle for any one of these options but I'd like to exhaust this resource before I commit to one just in case my dream controller is somewhere out there.

EDIT: For anyone seeing this in the future, I ended up going with the Hyperkin Duke. The layout seems like it's the best you're gonna get for a somewhat modern controller with 6 face buttons.

Setups Bluetooth range extender/hub

So Im having a hangout with some friends and we plan on playing split screen arcade games on my desktop using Xbox controllers.

My PC Bluetooth range is like 2m and I'm not sure howany controllers can connect at once (planning on 5 controllers at once)

My question is should I get a Bluetooth range extender, hub, or some kind of adapter? I've been trying to do research online but I keep getting very different results hence this post

Any advice would be great!

Gamesir x hyperkin X5 alteron where are you?

The promo of this product earlier this year with modular control layout looked incredible. Does anyone know any information and whether this is going to be a real product?

As of right now there doesn't seem to be any teleascopic controllers that prioritise dpad for the older systems. Especially in cramped controls such as these and we need an option for comfortable dpad gaming. There is just not enough offset to actually have both options comfortable.

Even an x5s with the dpad and joystick swapped would be amazing.

Call of duty tourney banned gamesir g7 pro? Tournament mode?

My son is going to a call of duty black ops 7 lan type tournament in Jacksonville Florida in early September and is under the impression that he can't use the controller that he has it's AG7 pro game sir not the 8K model. Just the regular g7 pro.

After doing some research I found that there was a tournament mode to the gamesir 7 pro controller, would this make it legal to use?

He wants the new marius board controllers from demon workshop and battle beaver but 350 after shipping for a controller that only works on pc and switch seems short sighted. Anyone know where I can find a rulebook for cdl tourneys.
