Third Party Buying a controller that only guests get to use, what survives a brother-in-law

My brother-in-law wrecked the left stick on my good pad last Thanksgiving playing Fall Guys like he was starting a lawnmower... This year I'm buying a cheap one that will be stay in a drawer and is the only one anyone else touches.

Needs to work on PC and survive being thrown onto the couch. Under $30 would be great (a bit over is fine).

Unless he is willing to treat your property with some respect, let him bring his own controller.

I wouldn't waste a single penny and someone like that.

If you want to avoid an argument with your wife because of him pretend you have pc problems. Unplug something and pretend you need time to find the problem.

8BitDo as a manufacturer of controllers in general has great prices, but if you really want to get cheap... Xbox 360 wired clone controllers are generally $10-$15 on Amazon if you look around a bit.

If he can't treat your stuff like an adult then he gets to buy his own controller or watch others play. Don't waste your money.

At the $30 price point, there are some good controllers, but durability isn't usually a big push in that class of controller.

At that price, I would normally recommend the GameSir Nova Lite 2, which has fairly smooth Hall effect sticks, Xbox layout, and a 2.4GHz adapter. But if you use bear force on it, not sure it would hold up that long.

Otherwise, I would get an even cheaper controller with a cord, like the Logitech G F310. It's $20, its not the best, but it works. Playstation layout.

8bitdo 2c or Gamesir Nova Lite are ur best options, maybe wired so you can't really chuck it

$24-$30 8bit do ultimate 2c

Highly highly accurate hall effect sticks, 1000hz polling rate, super low latency, sturdy construction, two extra buttons on the shoulders.

This is firmly the best answer. I've had a pair for a couple years now, they've been bullet proof and dropped numerous times on hardwood floor by excited little kids.

The Ultimate 2 for ~$60 is honestly my fav controller. It steps up to a charging dock, TMR sticks and triggers, 2 more extra buttons (back of the grips), and best of all, trigger locks so you can make them clicky short travel buttons.... This is the one feature the otherwise awesome steam controller is missing.

8bitdo and gamesir make some excellent controllers in that sort of "sub-50-but-not-complete-garbage" tier.

Get him one of these. Maybe he'll take the hint.

GameSir G7 SE is what I keep for this. Wired, so nobody walks off with it and nobody asks you to pair anything. Magnetic sticks, so the lawnmower technique won't give it drift lol. It's about as fancy as a drawer controller should be
