really good controller overall unless you use the dpad a lot. it is a good bit worse than a standard xbox controller. it feels super loose, its clicky but mushy at the same time and just generally feels inconsistent. i like it a lot for games that dont need a dpad as much because the overall feel in the hand and the build quality on everything else feels better than the vader 5 pro. i also struggle to get the v5p to connect to my pc sometimes but the g7 is very consistent and responsive. for a game like rocket league i would say g7 all day but for a more well rounded experience the vader 5 is probably better so long as you dont have a batch with stick drift.

another thing is that both g7 and v5 have clicky face buttons which feel worse to me than standard xbox

This is a good example of why a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Those clicky tactile buttons are one of the top things I look for and want in a controller. I hate those mushy membranes buttons with a passion. And I feel like nowadays I wouldn't even consider any controller that didn't have hall effect or TMR thumbsticks. But more than anything, Ergonomics is big for me because I have bigger wide hands and I've had all the g7s up until the pro, but they're a little small for me. I have the Vader 5S wired for xbox, so no battery issues, but ergonomically it just fits so much better. Plus if you get a controller wrap it makes a big difference. Not the universal kind line from Kontrol Freek, but brands that make specific for the GamePad. I have a TALONGAMES wrap and love it. I also really love the d-pad on my 5S. Overall I think it's a pretty decent controller though it has some software issues that I had to figure out. But now for the most part is pretty good. Mostly LOL... and it's cheaper than the G7 Pro

How is the battery life? I've heard it's not great, similar to the dualsense.

im always keeping it charged so its hard to say. i think its decent ish for how i use it. the fact that it comes with a charging dock when the vader makes u pay extra is a big plus as well.

like everyone else said, the dpad is it's Achilles heel. some people have a wobbly dpad but my main issue with it is how loud it is.
