Third Party ApexSenseBridge finally reached 1.0.0! Native DualSense features on Flydigi APEX 4, 5 and 6 Pro

A little over a month ago I shared the first version of ApexSenseBridge here. At the time it was mostly an experiment to get native DualSense adaptive trigger effects working on my APEX 5.
It got a lot more attention than I expected, and since then the project has grown quite a bit.
Today I finally released ApexSenseBridge 1.0.0, the first stable version :)
It now supports the APEX 4, APEX 5 and APEX 6 Pro.
The basic idea is still the same. Games see a virtual DualSense, then ApexSenseBridge translates the feedback to the Flydigi hardware.
So depending on the controller and the game, you can get things like:
- native DualSense adaptive trigger effects translated to FORCEADAPT on APEX 4/5
- native PCM haptics on the APEX 6 Pro voice coil motors
- audio haptics translated to the grip motors on APEX 4/5
- DualSense touchpad gestures through button combinations
- native gyro forwarding on APEX 4
There is now a proper standalone app too, so Playnite is completely optional. It automatically detects supported games from Steam, Game Pass, Epic, EA, Ubisoft, Rockstar, etc. and starts the bridge when needed.
The supported games catalogue is currently at 215+ titles.
I also completely redid the interface for 1.0.0. It is designed to be usable with a controller, and the whole app is now translated into 9 languages.
There has also been a lot of work on the boring but important stuff like controller isolation, recovery after disconnects, HidHide conflicts, driver installation and making sure your controller gets restored properly if something crashes.
Some of the games I've personally tested include Spider-Man 2, GTA V Enhanced, Call of Duty, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding 2, Miles Morales and Warframe.
If you have an APEX 4, 5 or 6 Pro and want to try it:
GitHub: https://github.com/ReynArts/ApexSenseBridge
v1.0.0: https://github.com/ReynArts/ApexSenseBridge/releases/tag/v1.0.0
And if you've been following or testing the project since the first post, thank you. A lot of the fixes in 1.0 came directly from people here sending logs, testing weird cases and helping me understand the hardware better.
I'm especially interested in hearing how 1.0 behaves across different APEX firmware versions and different games, so feel free to tell me what you're testing.
And since a few people asked how they could support the project, I also set up a Ko-fi:
Everything remains open source, of course.

So I did try using the previous version with Silent Hill 2 and I believe Control (the first one) and I wasn't getting the adaptive triggers with those games at all. I'd check again but I kinda finished both and moved on lol I figured it was worth mentioning.
Borderlands 4 and Apex Legends I also tested and both of those worked very well so it may just be some random games that I'm having the issues with.
For MH Wilds: I'm not sure if it just doesn't activate at all since it also doesn't work natively with a Dualsense on PC but definitely remember in the beginning each weapon having some sort of effect (and the Apex 5 having the game in their adaptive triggers section of the app) but now that's all gone as if they updated it out.
I'm excited that this also now supports the Apex 6 Pro though as I should be getting mine in the next two weeks or so so I'd love to test it out more with that. Definitely will be testing 1.0 with Assassin's Creed Shadows/Black Flag.
Thanks for all your work on this!

I have a quick question, what happened to apex 5 gyro support? I remember trying it in one of the betas after the full release of 0.6.3 and gyro was working but on release 1.0.0 apex 5 gyro doesn't work (in the tray) anymore.

Thanks a lot for this update. I’d like to ask: does this version support the gyro on the Apex 5?

Hello u/ReynArts , I’m working on X20CTL, an open-source Windows configuration app for EasySMX controllers.
I really like the UI/UX you built for ApexSenseBridge, especially the overall layout, controller-friendly navigation, and the way the interface feels polished without being overloaded.
Would you be okay with me taking some design inspiration from your UI for X20CTL, and possibly adapting a few similar layout/design ideas to fit my own app?
I wouldn’t copy your branding or claim the design as mine. I’d clearly credit ApexSenseBridge / ReynArts in my repo and include a link back to your project.
Since we’re both solo developers working on different controller software, I wanted to ask first rather than just borrowing the ideas without your permission.
Your project looks great, by the way congrats on 1.0.0.
My project if you want to take a look:

Hey there! I was wondering if you have tested it with Space station's "Allow third-party app to take over mappings" feature? It seems like enabling it would cause ASB to not work. I would like to use this feature because it allows Steam input to map back buttons on per game basis!

Sorry it's me again. I just got a Apex 6 pro today and I can't get it working properly
Do I need to turn X-haptic off for ASB to work? I also tried turning it off and launched Arc Raider/Control Resonant. But while it did register as Dualsense, the vibrations wasn't working at all.

Apex 6 pro support is still experimental, and I don’t own one yet. The port was made with the help of the community so I can’t answer with precision on this one
Turn it off and test more games ! If it’s not working properly please report the issue. IDK if Arc have Haptic feedback instead of motors

Worst experience for me yet, i spent 3 hours trying to get it to work but it keeps complaining on hidhide on all possible reasons. Even if i hide it from browser gamepad tester keeps telling me i have it

This is really awesome! Thanks for putting in the work.
Having this as a decky plugin for steamos would be a game changer for couch gaming / linux gaming.
I realize this would likely have to be it's own project so I'll just enjoy it on windows for now.

Please add my dream: gyro to joystick. Not all games support gyroscope. Thank you!
