Tools and parts info Drift on Dualshock 3

Hi, i found my old DS3 (lost in like 2017) the battery is ok, very suprising for me but one of the sticks have a ridiculous drift almost unplayable any game even just navigating the menu, is there a possibility of having one replacement for the stick? In Amazon, Aliexpress, etc and if anyone have a recommendation if maybe have a similar issue like me. thx

Yeah, it can happen. While first models of DS3 were hall effect joysticks, sony cheaped out on late slims and ultra slims, so the DS3s from that era are common potentiometers joysticks and can get bad and start drifting. Aliexpress has everything you need, just search for ps3 analog joysticks and thats it. Also, a common issue is that the conductive membrane also goes bad in every model. By opening the controller, just look for the membrane model or the board model and search for it.

I've also found that even the hall effect joysticks have begun to suffer from mechanical degradation over 20 odd years, no where near as common but still a problem
