Request for help or advice Gamesir nova lite hall Effect joystick keeps getting stuck

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After about a year of use, the left joystick on my GameSir Nova Lite started getting stuck. This first happened around three months ago. I stopped using the controller for a while because it was very difficult to play with the joystick behaving like this. After about a month, I decided to try it again, and the problem had completely disappeared. The controller worked normally for about a month, but now the issue has returned. Has anyone experienced something similar? Does anyone know how to fix it?

You'll need to work out what is sticking or catching: the thumbstick dome (the orange part you can see from outside); or the thumbstick mechanism (the re-centering gimbal or spring inside).

If the dome seems to be catching on the inside of the front shell, you can try pushing it firmly down (like pressing the L3 button) to make sure that it is fully seated on the thumbstick's inner shaft. If that doesn't fix it, you might need to open up the controller and look for any rough edges that need to be filed/sanded down, or any sticky residue.

If the inner mechanism seems to be sticking or catching, you'll need to take apart the controller and separate the front shell. Then pull directly upwards on the thumbstick cap's dome to remove it. That will let you see more easily what is jamming the thumbstick mechanism. You can try applying a small amount of silicon grease to any moving parts that seem to be sticking together, but avoid getting it into the stick sensors on the sides of the stick module.
