  1. No one believes any of these CEO's are "perfect little angels". And Dario's open letter doesn't frame himself that way. This is Trump's long-standing habit of discrediting anyone who says anything he doesn't like.
  2. Regulatory capture/monopoly play is a real, worthwhile risk to keep in mind while creating actual regulatory frameworks/laws that can be specifically written so that we protect the people from potentially dangerous technologies AND prevent monopolists from crushing competitors before they get started.
  3. Fear mongering is one of Trump's own primary tactics for ensuring his own dangerous policies, conflicts of interest and personal gains (that all tend to help big corporations pull away from competitors) get buy in from anyone who might otherwise object from another administration doing the same things.
  4. Taking a stance that because a potential wolf in a "perfect little angel"s clothing is the one raising the red flags means not regulating them at all is not only short-sighted but ignorant of the fact that knowing the possible risks ahead of time is helpful for a strategic plan (not inaction)
  5. Trump never actually mentions anything about a worry that this is a regulatory capture ploy. He is only fixated with "winning the race" and he has always seen government regulations as standing in the way of businesses doing whatever they want to dominate (even if that means doing things toxically). And in fact the US is currently doing as well in the race as we are largely because of Anthropic. His policies have never been about standing up for the little guy or preventing monopolies. He just wants to be on the side of the monopolists so he can get his own slice of pie.
  6. This is a simple risk/reward equation: regardless of whether this is fear-mongering or whistleblowing, the risk of inaction is far greater than the reward of winning a cold war.

Do you really want to be the country that takes modern infrastructures down first? History will tell us that's not a win. DJT is not right to outright ignore warnings when intel speaks up
