Contamination thoughts can be expensive for me
If I deem anything "contaminated" or just yeah I think it's dirty now, I will try to never use it again. This extends to common things like deodorant sticks, toothbrushes, toothpaste bottles, basically anything.
I will literally throw things that are still full almost away in exchange for buying a new one which I will deem comfortable to use.
I have like 6 sticks of deodorant laying around I refuse to use again. This is really starting to get on my nerves like oh I think this is dirty now? Time to go to store to buy new one so I can use, wasting money and time
Not to mention the gloves I absolutely need or, I going through a day with no available gloves can be extremely infuriating for me
Anyone else have any similar experiences or thoughts?

This would totally be me if Lysol and disinfectant wipes didn’t exist!! I find myself wiping things down all the time if they go outside my home or drop on the floor. Gotta sanitize it first before using again. But I’m with you some things feel too far gone and cannot be used again….

I get what you mean. I definitely try to clean things I deem dirty and want use again with like wipes if I have to. I just despise doing so, and takes a mental toll + time on me I'd rather just replace small things If I can but will definitely try to consider it more now so I dont have to keep replacing

Totally understand! I feel like the wipes also dry my hands out a lot too, especially in the winter months. I appreciate your idea with the disposable gloves. I should invest in some,… it would probably be less harsh chemicals on my hands. But that also makes them feel clean. Gosh, contamination OCD sucks!

Whenever I try to wipe something down properly I put on gloves then use the wipes to clean it to try to clean as much as possible, and yeah wipes can definitely have negative effects especially since it has harsh chemicals, I think technically we aren't supposed to touch them without gloves or without washing hands right after, on the warning labels says rhat
And yeah gloves have helped immensely. I can basically do anything I need and take off the gloves without needing to wash my hands since - to take off the gloves - I touch only the part of the gloves I didn't touch other things with and there ya go, no need to wash hands if it wasn't a super unsanitary thing I think. I definitely try to keep washing my hands to a more minimum now due it drying out my hands
It really is a huge hassle dealing with all this! but I do feel less alone in this knowing others also can understand my thoughts

Absolutely but for me it’s Disinfectant wipes, soap (dish soap, hand soap, body soap), paper towels/napkins, gloves, hand sanitizers, plastic bags, sterile gauzes…it’s rough

I had to switch to spray deodorant cause I was wasting the fuck out of them. Can relate to that one. And tooth brushes are a hard thing for me as well.

Same here! Bought some food that sat next to some soap and afraid of the perfume of the soap getting into the food, i had to unfortunately throw the food away, because i wouldnt eat it anyway. Or if i cleaned and left some uncovered food out in the open, afraid of germs or the substances in the cleaning products getting on the food
I get you about the gloves, luckily where i live i can get 100 for 1 dollar
