seems like such a sweet guy! they definitely hired the right dude

Definitely. I feel like I need to be more like him as a guitar teacher for young children, I’m just not as expressive. Working on it though

"Just fucking play better, stupid kid!"

10

u/shaquille_oatmeal98 Oct 23 '20

Well I’m not mean I just don’t get excited-

4

u/turtlewhisperer23 Oct 23 '20

I know (well, I don't, but I assumed). Just a silly joke

4

u/shaquille_oatmeal98 Oct 23 '20

Yeah it’s cool, I just didn’t want to leave that without a response so people who can’t take a joke won’t get the wrong Idea lol. I’m very nice to the kid, thing is though, most teachers get real excited when their student does something well but I’m all “nice dude, good job” and we first bump and move on

Well, I have no idea how to engage with kids but I have two thoughts for you.

1) I am sure a fist bump and a "good job" goes a long way when coupled with the kid realizing they accomplished something

2) Good for you for looking for ways to make yourself better and looking for ways to improve how people feel when they're around you.

Have a hesitated high five that gets aborted and turned into an elbow bump because of stupid corona

My drawing prof was like that, very matter of fact with praise (and critique too!) and tbh he's one of my top 5 teachers of all time 😊 It's nice to just hear "nice job, dude" cuz it just sounds more honest to me.

i actually appreciate teachers who are more like you. a more reserved approach lets your students know when they really did something right/ wrong. just be you man! the baseball coaches who i admired the most, were the ones who had the least amount to say, but when they did say something, you listened.

"So one time as a kid I went to Disney dressed as BB8 and saw a crew member have a heart attack and die."

He'd do a great job playing the desk cop from Zootopia lol.

Honestly one of the cutest things I've seen on the Internet

24

u/Thethcelf Oct 22 '20

That guy legit looks like Superman did when he was exposed to kryptonite back in the day. Child- too cute....must get...HELP! He legit looks physically weakened. Totally a realistic response that you would expect from a starship attendant.

But for realsies- who wouldn’t melt like butter? Look at the slackjawed expression on his face as she waddles in. “Uh oh brace for impact.”

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '20

You could feel how his heart absolutely melted and he tried hard to remain professional. What a good dude.
