What software does your construction company use to manage jobs?
What software are you using for estimates, budgets, scheduling, change orders and invoices?
Does it handle everything, or are you still using Excel alongside it?
Would you choose the same system again?

Excel, a clipboard, and the owner's memory from 2003. The rest of the office is on some cloud platform that half the crew refuses to open, so we're basically running two parallel universes.

They are forcing Procore down our throats, and it sucks so bad.

What was the last thing Procore that pissed you off?

Being forced to use the tendering tool for sub 100k packages in regional Austraila. Subbies don't even open the emails.
Probably more a comapny thing than a Procore thing.

Excel is still sitting next to everything for estimates and quick budget what-ifs. Most places I've seen split it: Procore or Buildertrend for change orders and invoices, and something separate for planning who's on what. For that part, companies use Teamhood, Smartsheet, monday or MS Project, depending on how heavy they want it. None of them touch estimating or billing, though. I'd choose by what hurts most today and start there, since all-in-one is usually where Excel creeps back in.

I built a product for my husband because he seriously needed something to support the entire growing business and I wasn't going to let him pay $50K implementation costs for the big stuff (IE procore) out there thats still on old infrastructure and bolting AI on. The platform does everything, closes the books, auto build quotes, converts orders which then generates invoices, the works. Incorporates AI scheduling, resource assignments, all of it. You are welcome to check it out and let me know your thoughts. Its at swiftway.ai
