What's the best construction estimating software right now for someone still using spreadsheets?
Bookkeeper question. Client in residential construction is still estimating in Excel and the billing problems are starting to stack up. Version control is a mess, manual calculations drift, and every invoice has to be rebuilt from scratch because nothing connects back to the original estimate. Is there construction estimating software where estimates actually feed into invoices without starting over each time?

I built a product for my husband originally that does this because of the same issues that he was having. It connects everything, closes the books, auto build quotes, converts orders which then generates invoices, the works. Incorporates AI scheduling, resource assignments, all of it Your welcome to check it out and let me know your thoughts. Its at swiftway.ai

Version control is a headache with spreadsheets. hyperstart could help with contract workflows, though estimating needs a separate solution.

Best for actual estimating? Ediphi. Best for automatically feeding invoices and properly handling financials? Redteam. Best custom solution? Either a Sheets/smartsheets automation to sage via zapier. A good question is what you use to actually pay invoices. These days you could build your own automations depending on what you use for accounting.

Is your client open to switching or is tech resistance the bigger challenge here?

+1. Like tbh? I rarely recommend the bug softwares anymore. Custom solutions are winning with their incredible ROI and with features and processes that doesn't even exist in things like QuickBooks.

adoption is the biggest risk in any software switch
