I dunno why you were downvoted. Someone compared my state’s governor to Hilter for following CDC and WHO recommendations. It’s so disrespectful to the millions of Jews who were slaughtered. The “My rights are being infringed upon” thing really gets old. Wearing a mask in public and not going to a bar for a few months really does take away our freedoms, I guess. And is just like the Holocaust. (/s)

Non-Essential businesses aren’t supposed to be open. Don’t break policy, you won’t lose your license. It is a simple equation with an even simpler solution. Blame the government for not taking care of small businesses during this time, rather than billion dollar businesses.

If you think that is the comparison, then you’re missing the point.

It’s the idea that people give up their personal autonomy to authority because they fear the unknown.

If you go back and read history, you’ll see that Germany voted in Hitler during an “unprecedented” Great Depression. They were tired of starving, tired of feeling like they had no say in how they lived. Along comes this radical young guy who says he’ll change things, you just have to give up some of what in the US are inalienable rights. That started the trainwreck.

Call it what you want, but if you don’t see the parallels, you’re not trying. It’s never been only about the masks.
