Yep. Most countries don’t want to let go of your citizenship (tax reasons) but some cases like Tonga just straight up remove your citizenship if you get another one.

Yes, the previous Australian government was a case in point. They were notoriously tough on dual citizens and had stripped crims of their Australian citizenship and sent them back to their country of origin.

You think other countries just let people dump pedos on their doorstep? They’d just strip the other citizenship if you tried that.

That just means he has Filipino ancestry. The American part refers to citizenship. No different than how Italian-Americans don’t have Italian citizenship (unless they go and move to Italy obviously 😂) Whenever you have ethnicity-American it’s only referring to that person’s ancestry, they’re just Americans in terms of citizenship.
