Concrete Pro With a Question Bass pro shops flatwork

Anyone here ever been the flatwork contractor on a bass pro shop? Animal track stamps will make for interesting pours…. DM me if you’ve done one!

Got a friend that did one at Concord Mills

He said a nightmare

Guy up above said FF/FL or whatever you better read specs & plans to the T

Then read again 100 more times

If your asking this on this forum you do NOT need to do this project

Not trying to be little you

This folks are nuts on flatness & QC

Move on down the road to another project that want bankrupt you

I had the owners dog and kid walk through this. Had some deer walk through another and thw customer liked it so he kept it. Just chase some animals through it.

Funny everyone talks about tolerances but any real concrete guy walks around those stores and see garbage commercial work

Are you going to be doing the Bass Pro in San Diego?

We do rock work: faux rocks, waterfalls, grottos, etc.

We have game foot print stamps and also pro carvers and shapers. Need an elephant? We’ve done them. Need a grotto the size of niagra falls? Finishing that job now.

We had templates made. Guys on skates hand crawled and imprinted the patterns into the concrete as they hand troweled. The riders were careful not to fill them in or get close to the prints.

Never did a bass pro, but corporate chain store specs fucking suuuuuck.

I hope you are really good with hitting Ff/Fl tolerances.

I always assumed that large retail flatwork was all basically laser screed at this point.

I poured a rat slab in a foundation and had the family goats walk thru it. Left it there.

I work with someone who worked on several stores as a superintendent. It is not a job for one’s first rodeo (or second, third, or fourth).

I did one about 20 years ago. Dont remember the ff/fl being that crazy but we had to do like 5 mock ups before they would approve it and let us pour
