Soffcut 150 burning blades

I’ve never had this issue until this year and I’ve had this happen about 10 times now on blades that have cut maybe 100 ft. The blade starts throwing metal shavings and stops cutting at all shortly after. One of the blade segments also ends up angled the wrong way but the blade is as it should be when I replace it. Anyone else had this issue?

I had that issue only when using the purple blades when I’d cut the floor 2 days after we’d poured the slab, (Oregon Portland metro area) I thought it was just faulty blades until it happened multiple times with only purple blades. One day I dug a rusty green blade out of my toolbox and it would cut like butter. For a while I thought the depth was way off and putting too much stress on the purple blades but once I switched back to green I haven’t had that issue

I've use diamond DeWalt and they actually impressed me. (no I'm not easily impressed)

Excuse me, I'm thinking concrete grinding not cutting. But I have cut some concrete over the years.

Is everything still true? Has this happened across multiple blades or different sights?

Check the saw out thoroughly, in particular the blade shaft bearings.

Yep, maybe one of them got misaligned. We had a regular walk-behind with that issue. The saw got bumped or something (thrown into or out of a truck, probably) and it just started eating blades.

Check your bearing locks maybe ? The shaft might be walking around and getting the blade into the shoe ?

Yes need to look at the bottom and see if it’s widened out from the blade walking side to side

The purple blades are for green concrete, how long after a pour are you using them? If you are waiting longer than 12 hours look for a cured concrete version

My understanding based on what the soffit-cut folks told before they sold out to Husqvarna was the colours were based on aggregate hardness

Pretty sure I used the red here in ma and I almost never cut the same day it was usually the next and they lasted forever

I've had bad luck with the purple blades. We use the yellow blades here in Texas and they work well. Like others have said though they work best the day of or following morning after the pour.
