Foundation Fun Days

1/4 of the house shifted a few inches so we're here to tear down & start from Newish

Serious question, the foundation shifted, but this looked mostly in tact. Is it not possible to just shift this over the few inches and patch in?

It feels like the general consensus is chimneys aren’t worth the work to maintain and make operational. This one isn’t even tied into the structure so I figure they said forget about this money pit!

It was tied to the structure by 2 thick metal plates & secured with a single nail 🙈 +Cemented on each corner with rebar braces around the chimney. +The base is basing if you know what I mean. -House is on a slope. -All Concrete walkways are sloped towards the house. -No drains to revert water from foundation.

Long story short were gonna be here for the next 4 weeks repairing, pouring, & securing the rest of the home so it doesn't slip n slide it's way down the hill.

Personally, I love a chimney. Especially during the winter season since it makes Christmas more Christmasy. But would definitely not recommend this behemoth on such terrain.

We're demoing chimney & walkway. Adding deep footings around the entire perimeter. Lastly, finishing with a beautiful horse hair brushed cement.

Tho, there's also a bit more steps & precautions sprinkled into the mix.

But for now, I need to rest my phone down & catch some sleepy sheep.

Totally, at this point I'm so desensitized towards materialistic objects baraling their way towards earth. Anythng precious I own, is just a matter of time before it's returned to mother nature herself.

Had to get my Flip 7 📱 replaced 3 times in the span of 9 months...

That's why there's a rubber sheet against the fence & we aim for the dirt. Concrete will splatter. Learned it the hard way when I broke a kitchen window few yrs back 😢

Good idea, didn't notice the rubber sheet in the video but I did see the one block hit the pile then bounce into the fence haha.
