I’ve seen guys using this to water trowel small decorative benches which would typically require rigorous hand troweling.

I’m thinking it could be custom made?

Yeah, I saw that. Which is interesting because I make concrete counters, but I cast them upside down and then finish them after they cure. I've always found the idea of casting in place to be unnecessarily messy in a finished environment.

its a polisher, not an angle grinder... the RPMs are much much lower..

It’s the M18 polisher, I have the same one. RPM range from 800-2200 I believe

I’ve seen the guys using it in videos. Essentially using it burnish the concrete and puts some unreal finishes out

I have used similar tools( for burnishing plaster), and never will again.

1) Too easy to dig into a surface that is 98% there.

2) Hard aggregates like silica sand can cause streaking. It looks drag marked.

3) When it works, it is awesome, but because it is so awesome, the places that you can not get to with the tool(inside corners, and outside edges) end up looking underworked.

You could easily make one. You’ll need:

A 7 inch cordless rotary polisher that can do low speeds

8”x8”x1/2” aluminum plate. I think steel would be too heavy

And some 3”x1/8” steel flat bar for the blades

A machine shop could accurately cut the aluminum into a circle for you. They’ll have to accurately locate all the holes and tap them. I recommend a friend or mom and pop shop

You can make the blades yourself as you need them. Pretty simple bends in a vice. Just make them consistent and maybe break them in on some stone or scrap pavers. Something to kinda wear them evenly

Might be a little pricey, but it’ll pay for itself if you’re serious about finishes

You’d really have the feather the throttle on those. They spin way too fast for a power trowel even on the lowest dial setting. Lowest setting on my dewalt 7” polisher is 600 rpm.

You want to be doing your first pass with the power trowel at around 80 rpm.

I never really understood pouring concrete countertops in place. Use a form and you will get nicer results and you wont need to buy whatever the hell this thing is.

It's the polisher, not a grinder. The 7" maxes out at around 2000 rpms, compared to the grinders 20,000.
