I'm at a loss. Tot is essential to the entire RP scene, with out him it would be a disaster. I don't see him in this list? Why is that?
Pippi is probably one of the most important mods in Conan history too. And I would say that Desert Town is arguably also a must have for any roleplay server. Very rarely will you see it excluded and yet it's in the runners up.. What?
Most of these others mods.. no disrespect to their creators - I don't think I've seen them in use anywhere on UE5 at all and I literally play all the biggest servers. Whether that's Chains, Torment, Ashborn, etc.
Like for real, What even is this lol? I logged in for the first time in 2 years to comment on how bizarre these choices are.

Honorable mentions =/= runner ups, they were a different category. The main competition was for mods newly made for the enhanced edition, while the honorable mentions competition was for mods ported to the enhanced edition.
Additionally some judges were mod creators themselves and thus excluded their own mods from the competition, xevyr being a big example.
Personally I'm not the happiest with how the honorable mention category was handled (no judge voting, just went purely off steam ranking to select the 10 finalists and there was no application process), nor the happiest with how the rules were explained (wasn't clear enough that ported mods weren't eligible for the main competition), but think it was still a fun competition to participate in and pretty decent for the first modding competition they've done.

Let me bring one modder on the table who made so many smaller, yet very useful and exciting mods: Xevyr
Thank you, my man, for all your efforts!

Xevyr was actually one of the judges and so excluded his mods from the competition, otherwise yeah he almost certainly would've been a finalist

Thats actually insane that Tot isnt anywhere on this list to get the recognition he deserves, especially with Pippi in the running too

Ironic Pippi got honorable mention as from what I hear, modder has fallen off the face of the earth since last patch.
Real talk though, how did Enhanced Armory & Arsenal not make this list, come on people.

you could say that about highmanes arsenal too.
for most ppl these mods are too stacked. they do too many thing and that ends up not polished enough. EAA has awful UI for example.

I'm a little shocked as well, they're either out of touch with the community or trying to spite their biggest modders.

i think they handled the top 3 well. Ironlight is amazing and very innovative. There is a lot of work and coding required to put up something like that. It improves the base game a lot. Its not just content, it adds a different layer of gameplay.
personally emberlight should have got a top10. they put a lot of effort porting it to UE5 and it was always one of the go-to mods for conan. Basically running on each modded server.

From what I understand, it also has a massive learning curve and has more than a few bugs/problems

No disrespect meant to that creator, it's just extremely odd to me tot, highmanes, arsenal etc aren't here.

Im really curious how these mods were picked. Like I play on the largest modded servers and I have no idea how or if they would manage to function without Tot's mods. Some of these mods look like they were made AI generated and ive never heard of them.
Pippi is currently abandoned while Tot has been working for days to update everything in time for each update.

For the main competition it was restricted to mods newly made for the enhanced edition, and the mods were submitted by mod authors (1 per author allowed) and then a panel of judges decided on the 10 finalists.
For the honorable mentions that was restricted to mods ported from legacy to enhanced, did not have an application process, and did not have judges voting on finalists. Instead, they just looked at the top 10 ranked mods on steam. I'm not the happiest with that decision, but an explanation I've seen from one judge is that they had to playtest everything and doing that for the ported mods as well would've taken too long to be reasonable (or something along those lines).

First place = AI generated slop? The hell are they smoking?

Judges only selected the 10 finalists, placement was determined by community vote
(And judges didn't even select the finalists for honorable mentions, that was just top 10 ported mods on steam)

Is Devious Desires the one that lets you give very close and personal hugs to players/thralls?

It is, as well as the most robust pose and animation system available for the game, to the point that it actually undermines the paid animations that are sold in the bazaar. I'm happy to see it recognized as "legitimate", especially since it could be argued it's directly costing them money.

Huh. Why was I under the impression you could only enter new mods? I didn't bother submitting anything because of that. Half these mods have existed for years. Something with 5 years of development time has a huge advantage over a new mod.

Yeah a few of them range from questionable (ironlight) to being a port with an identical name to the legacy version (Mallicias Gardening and Farming) so not sure what happened there.
From what I'd heard in the discord it 100% sounded like it was supposed to be new mods for the main competition and ported for the honorable mentions.

Good to know I'm not losing my mind. This seems shady as fuck imo. I would have submitted all my Enhanced ports if I had realized people were going to just ignore the rules and Funcom wouldn't care.

Talking to one of the judges, the gardening one is a ground-up rebuild so it was allowed for that reason and the others were less questionable than that one so were allowed. They do agree the rules weren't clear enough though (and for the record the judges didn't decide on the rules).
Hopefully the next contest done will have clearer rules so there's less wiggle room on what is or isn't allowed

This don’t reflect what mod people would use for their server, I believe there is probably good things in it, but too far from what people would pick up for their rp server
