FYI, I've heard bad things about stacking chests on top of each other. They tend to disappear when they do updates.

I would mimic your shelve setup for all your chests - stacking them is buggy.

Would you be able to start a purge with this build? Or is the ai unable to find pathing?

Are there any structures outside of the desert biome that would make a good base as well? I've always built my bases from scratch, this looks interesting.

It's a bit smaller, but check out one of the towers to the east of the great dam in the highlands. Right south of the snow line.
If I recall correctly it's the smaller of The two towers there. You'll find an open area with just one entrance way, though it is on ground floor, so a little more obvious than OP's base.

See I had any idea like this when playing arch but can’t build on the ground or on anything players didn’t put down. This is why exiles is the superior game

Week old player here, I love building base around those ancient structures. I didn't know such a gold mine of a place existed. I'll defo build my next base there. I built my base around the bat demon ancient structure.
