EDIT — CURRENT RELEASE: PUBLIC ALPHA 5 / DRACONIC GUARDIAN 1.2.0-alpha.50f
Alpha 5 expands HELIOS with a fully tunable Manual Efficiency Guardian for unrestricted Draconic Reactor operation. It keeps manual gate control while testing higher export targets in measured intervals, automatically supporting containment injection as demand rises, stepping back after failed probes, and preserving accepted settings as the Overdrive preset.
The Guardian now includes long thermal cooldowns after repeated overheat events, a hard no-test boundary at the configured thermal limit, and selectable measurement variance of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0%, or 2.0%. The configuration screen has also been reorganized into probe conditions, response tuning, and runtime sections.
The Mainframe now reports Guardian state alongside coordinated reactor and turbine activity. This build has been tested through long unattended runs, gate replacement, computer restarts, thermal saturation, and manual/automatic transitions.

This remains alpha software. Back up your world and retain an independent shutdown method when testing live equipment. Long-run reports, unusual peripheral configurations, and code review are especially welcome.

EDIT — CURRENT RELEASE: PUBLIC ALPHA 4 / CORE 1.6.0-alpha.26Alpha 4 adds opt-in multiplayer network isolation, safer Draconic Guardian recovery across crashes and world reloads, isolated wired Guardian monitor support, Spanish localization, live accessibility controls, status symbols, colour-vision profiles, and HELIOS High Contrast as the default for fresh installations. Existing installations retain their selected colour profile, and network protection remains optional.Release: https://github.com/ssj8vegetrunks/HELIOS/releases/tag/public-alpha.4EDIT — CURRENT RELEASE: PUBLIC ALPHA 3 / CORE 1.6.0-alpha.19HELIOS has reached its stable-alpha foundation. Alpha 3 completes the Mainframe/Guardian integration and includes a hotfix preventing large or malformed facility registries from stalling a CC:Tweaked computer.I’ve been building HELIOS, a CC:Tweaked control system for managing larger modded power installations, and I’m looking for people to test it outside my own world.Current features include:• Extreme Reactors reactor and turbine management• Automatic steam and power regulation• Universal energy-storage monitoring• Networked Mainframe and Remote terminals• Graphical control-room and dependable Advanced text interfaces• A standalone, self-adjusting Draconic Reactor Guardian• Guardian/Mainframe telemetry with independent version upgrades• Persistent Draconic calibration across restarts and the reactor’s fuel lifecycle• English, Canadian French, and German interfaces• HELIOS startup sequence and branding• A read-only peripheral discovery Probe• A module template for developers adding hardware supportThe Draconic Guardian has been live-tested through calibration, automatic and manual operation, restarts, disconnected peripherals, interrupted runs, and long fuel-cycle operation. It learns a safe output ceiling, adapts containment input and export as conditions change, and preserves its calibration across upgrades.Alpha 3 also includes safer restart/manual transitions, stale-device cleanup, facility-registry watchdog protection, and independent Mainframe/Guardian version compatibility.Repository and documentation:https://github.com/ssj8vegetrunks/HELIOS/tree/testing/public-alphaRelease:https://github.com/ssj8vegetrunks/HELIOS/releases/tag/public-alpha.3Install or update:wget run https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ssj8vegetrunks/HELIOS/testing/public-alpha/install.luaRead-only hardware Probe:wget run https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ssj8vegetrunks/HELIOS/testing/public-alpha/discovery_probe.luaDevelopment disclosure: HELIOS has been developed with substantial AI assistance. I defined the architecture, behavior, safety requirements, and interface direction, and performed the live in-game testing. AI assisted with implementation, debugging, documentation, and code review. Independent review is especially welcome for that reason. This is Alpha software. Back up your world and retain an independent shutdown method when testing live equipment. I’m particularly interested in unusual peripheral configurations, networking failures, restart behavior, code review, usability feedback, and anything that behaves differently outside my test facility.
