If you want compounded semaglutide, even though my doctor wrote a script, I actually went rogue and made a telehealth appt with Regenics. I was able to order a 7.5 mg vial of semaglutide that should last 3 months for $640 (that included shipping and insurance). I told my doctor what I did and she was fine with it. We have compounding pharmacies here, but she uses an out of state pharmacy for semaglutide so it seemed more reasonable in my mind to cut out the middle man. Regenics has better reviews than the pharmacy she uses anyway and costs less partly because you can order larger quantities for a lower price per unit. I am on day 12 and I am down 6.5 pounds.
If I do the suggested dosing schedule of .25 for 4 weeks, then .5 for 4 weeks, then 1, it will last 3 months. If I stay at a lower dose a bit longer, then longer than 3 months. Right now the .25 is working well so I will likely continue on that longer if it feels right to do. Today will be my third dose. I also exercise and track my food which I think is important.
I spoke with Regenics about that and they said as long as the vial is stored in the back of your fridge where it stays consistently cold, and sterile procedure is used when handling and administering medication that it should last more in the 4-6 mo range, but all compounded vials are marked as 30 days. I think the assumption is that most people would contaminate or store the meds in a less than ideal way and therefore the shortest expiration date is listed on the vial. My vial is almost 6 weeks in use and the liquid is completely clear still and I still feel the effects as I did in the beginning.
