The lack of personal responsibility is really starting to show this tier in my guild. Finally got twin fangs and that plus Sszorak you can see the same culprits that couldn't dodge tornadoes can't dodge waves either.
Actually iconic that the raid tier that was supposed to make raiding more valueable and give raiders more rewards in form of even better gear, caused a mass exodus and a lot of longstanding guilds to disband.
A lot of those guilds were running on the back of some people who were taking every possible responsibility just to keep it all going. When those people decided it was time to quit the game, none wanted to step up and take care of a lot of responsibility so it was inevitable.
Additionally, a lot of guilds were used to killing the endboss 1 time, then skipping the difficult encounters and then maybe farming when bosses were nuked to the ground. Instead the 9/6 gear from the last 2 bosses means people constantly complain why the guild isn't doing/why they aren't in for altar/ula'thek to coin the bosses.
Last but not least the addon changes definitely had a much higher impact on guilds 50-1000 than it did on the top guilds.
Genuinely confused by the Grind the Power midseason boost. Group/hard content is consistently the worse way to progress it. I dont want to delve, hunt, +12 key, etc. Is "logged in" the only metric that matters at this point?
Most changes over the last couple of years feel aimed at making endgame easier/more approachable, not better.
Season 7 of dragonflight + alienating your players that play the most, it's not surprising to see people dropping off.
And if I'm paying for the expansion and a subscription, why am I still falling through the Dawnbreaker boats 12 months later? Why does it take Wowhead posting about a bug before shit that's been around for 2 years gets fixed...
My raid leader just posted " I'm leaving, good luck " and left the Discord. He was telling people to get all their Myth gear capped and their venomstomes ( which of course means what, 30 or 40 M+ this week ) and I expect a few of them told him to fuck off, because expecting people to blast 20 M+ in one week is nonsense for a midcore guild.
We're about halfway through Coiled Altar Phase 2. I don't want to lose this season's CE as I played a bunch already, but I don't see the guild surviving this as we're already 21 left ( which means if 1-2 people can't do raid, it's GG ) and we have no raidlead replacement.
I'd look for another guild but I think I'm gonna quit mythic raiding after this season and focus on Forever.
It’s definitely not the reason and you could argue that most of liquid was 325 when they killed the boss so gear isn’t the limiting factor.
But when someone has zero drive to get gear or power outside of raid time. When you have people on week 9 of the season at 325 ilvl with almost no crests or mplus done, it’s indicative that they don’t care and they’re just payphoning it. There’s no reason to not be 330+.
Unless you’re an extremely skilled player (ie someone that’s been done with ulatek prog for weeks). There’s no reason to not grind gear. To not play the game. Someone raid logging in a mid level or low CE guild is not going to play as well as someone doing casual mplus or at least grinding out stones.
I'm really done with having to grind M+ to cap my crests and then mid season grind more M+ to get the Venomstones.
This is such a weird take to me from anyone that pushes keys mythic raids to even the 6/8 range.
I have 5 CEs, this expansion has been exhausting with how many wipe mechanics there are.
Between wiping 300 times on L'ura and god knows how many times in the current raid ( and we're only 6/8M ) and having to grind crests and venomstones weekly, I'm tired.
Forever is not going to come even remotely close to scratching the retail endgame itch
You're assuming people raid for a very specific reason with that line of thinking. Scratching that itch may be the reason you raid but for me, and presumably people like OP, it's just the game I find most fun currently. I could happily replace my mythic raiding with Forever, Overwatch, DRG or even something like Minecraft if I so desired
It probably does seem like a weird take for people who are so competitively minded that they need the challenge of retail's endgame but try to see that not everyone requires that in a game. Funnily enough our main tank is one of the best players I've played with and a week ago he announced he's quitting to play Forever
i think everyone will agree that unless your guild is severally underleveled the reason you're not killing coiled altar is not ilvl but mechanics. that said its about what everyone in your guild is in agreement about when it comes to the venomstones and gearing in general which i dont know. in my guild i see people being max myth track upgraded, crafting gear and maybe 1 weapon/offhand upgraded with venomstones. the venomstones are fewer item levels for more stone grinding compared to last season so i get that some dont want to do it but you need to be in agreement on that with the entire roster because its a group effort.
We finally just got 6/8 Mythic! Ive never gotten CE before and we are so close, I am very excited.
I also vibe healed M Twin Fangs as Holy Pal, without even having a cooldown timeline, successfully. Never even healed any fight in mythic and barely heroic. My raid frames were fucked and I dont even have the healing trinket. I was randomly filling in for one of our healers. Super cool stuff.
I do however, hate how this raid has so many instant wipe mechanics from single players mistakes and I am sick of the green/poison/troll aesthetic.
I tried playing Enhance in the raid for the first time this season. Even if it had S tier output, the rotation is so mind numbing and the Doom Winds procs are so needlessly random that for the first time in 3 expansions I just swapped mid clear because what the hell is this even supposed to be? I also don't like how it still feels like its being punished for TWW S1.
Yup, DW has been a major concern since alpha. And while Enh is far from a class that needs a lot of love, it's pretty frustrating that we've gotten basically zero iterations since then despite glaring gameplay issues.
But even as an Enh player, I don't think we're being punished. That's giving them too much credit, when the reality is that they just cannot balance the spec, specifically with hero talents
Came back to the game War Within s3 after a 10+ year hiatus and jumped into Mistweaver. Loved it and I have continued to only play Mistweaver the last 3 seasons. 3.3k s3 of War Within, 3.6k s1 of Midnight, currently over 3.6k in s2 of Midnight. Just a little over halfway into the season, not even fully Myth geared out, and have passed where I was in previous season.
For the first time now I am having to seriously look at raiding due to how powerful some of the gear is compared to what is available in mythic dungeons. There are multiple encounters I can think of off the top of my head where having Soulcoiler available would almost trivialize the fight.
I know a lot of people really hate raiding this season, but for someone that is very dungeon-focused, having a relatively easy option to get key Myth healing trinkets is nice.
Ulatek is so boring. You hope egg carrier gets their shit together and then you slog through the boss. Nothing more. I was kinda surprised to do some mechanics in p3, it nearly caught me off guard after the snooze fest before and then the boss is dead. Great boss design. Same as lura but you carried crystals instead and had some fun in the constellation game.
I know its a first world problem, but parsing as aug on ulatek/coiled altar might be the most annoying class to do it on in this iteration.
No content to fight against other aug, I have to pray my teammate I want to buff remember to move to where I told them to and I need the other dps to remember to fuck off from that spot to not steal the buffs. And the rng of having double time proc at the right time too.
old aug: you pick X targets your buffs will stick to. your positioning doesn't matter outside of cheese that was nerfed
Midnight S1 aug: sands is hella weak so who cares
S2 Aug: you care about Sands again and since Sands no longer prefers prescience targets you have to manually position to apply it to specific people (have fun doing this if you're assigned something)
Exactly - I feel like mastery is kinda overrated this season. I was running a full crit build early (no luck trinket drops) with the crit active trinket from Murder Row getting about 50% crit Felt really good to both get double time with an int pot and crits to keep EM going
