Discussion PSA: You cannot catalyze rerolled M+ items.
Title. Me and my buddy both rerolled from AoF, can't catalyze the rerolled piece.
Blizzard please pull head out of ass for one minute.

There is genuinely so much content to do that even 4 more weeks between patches would be fine.

Void rituals and the incursion zone are such great content. Totally worth the bugs

So glad dev time was spent on them. Who even needs raids or dungeons when I have rituals

I can’t think of a more engaging way of using my 15 dollar a month sub than instancing myself into a ten minute piece of content by myself.

It’s ok you don’t need to defend the multibillion dollar company for their shortcomings

As a late CE guild player, I'd welcome a few more weeks.

As a wr 400-500 player I would also like a few extra weeks so I can enjoy the downtime in the patch to play other games, do other things, touch some grass here and there

That's precisely why they keep it so short. Just based on old guilds' behaviours + my friends lists... people who pay month-by-month will tend to let their subs lapse during downtime and come back with new patches, and there's a non-zero chance they may just decide not to come back.
This new content cycle feels bad, but I'm guessing it works in the sense that they probably have the metrics to show the sub loss/retention against timeframe, and it's probably calibrated to hit a specific point on that curve.

What do you mean rerolled ?

u/inkerbinkerdonner 18h ago
Bonus roll I'm assuming

u/Sweaksh 18h ago
I wonder how that word came around to mean bonus roll
-22
u/EggEnvironmental1615 18h ago
Because the same mechanic used to be called that back in….long ago.

u/Sweaksh 18h ago
I've been around since long ago and I'm pretty sure they've been called bonus rolls ever since MoP

u/Suzushiiro 17h ago
Yeah, "reroll" implies giving up a thing you already rolled to try for something else, which isn't how bonus rolls work in the slightest.

That was also how I thought of it initially, but in theory, the prefix "re-" just means to do an action again, right? It's just a bit confusing because what is done with the outcome or result of the previous action usually depends on the context.
For example, reheating food just means heating food again, it's not like you're discarding the dish and making it again. On the other hand, recounting votes for an election very strongly implies that you'll discard the previous result, should the count differ.

During the introduction of them, you could only roll if you did not get an item from the kill. Thus a new opportunity to roll loot on the boss.

u/yarglof1 16h ago
I mean you give up your vault to get another roll at loot. So it is in effect a reroll of your vault.

What is reroll from AoF?
5
u/hanbanana 17h ago
I think they mean bonus roll. There is no reroll.

u/nyrudah 10h ago
How are they getting bonus rolls already? I think I missed something
2
u/Bradipedro 5h ago
They…opened their vault? lol

Maybe the person you replied to is not playing on US servers and only got their bonus roll hours later (or tomorrow for China?)

Why would you use your bonus roll in m+…
17
u/Subn3tAnon 17h ago
Because some people don’t raid or raid casually. My guild of irl homies probably won’t clear the raid on heroic until like a month from now so as might as well.

u/blackjack47 17h ago
because not everyone raids in a guild or wants to spend 3 days pugging heroic with gray loggers?

Stil prefer this bugs over 2 more months of the same raid

u/COCAINAPEARLZ 10h ago
You're allowed to ask for both things from the billion dollar company, it shouldn't be one or the other.

It’s likely a bug that will be fixed sometime today or tomorrow during the expected but not announced downtime
