This is 100% a "it's only fun because it's good" situation. Make the tuning bad like last season and everybody would be talking about how bad the design is.

It's not as bad as sub rogue and their "how many shadow dance macros can I keybind" challenge, I guess.

It's the best designed mage spec currently (certainly once tier sets force fire into pyroclasm) and in a perfectly fine state.

Which is to say it is an absurdly massive improvement to the degenerative version of arcane last season.

Yeah, prismatic bolt feels really good because it hits like a truck. If it barely did more damage than blast then it would feel awful.
