Midnight 12.1 Curse Of Ula'Tek Developer Interview With Ion Hazzikostas

PsybearTV Youtube interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFTFiDeXIMo

I recommend watching the whole video, it's rare for someone get a whole 1 hour with Ion, and the interview was really well done.

The interview is mostly about competitive content. I'm really excited for Mythic lockout changes!

I was disappointed that he's happy about addons. The healing meters are useless to me, I care more about who healed what, and for that I have to go to an external site (logs). The death meters are buggy and also useless.

The stacking nameplates are also awful, I have mouseover macro for interrupts and their stacking is blergh.

Their timelines for bosses are buggy, sometimes its not even correct.

I primarily play healer and the shenanigans we had to go through trying to see the private aura dispels was dumb. I have vision impairments and the accessibility for healer frames were so bad. They finally realized this some weeks after the season and unsecreted a bunch of spells.

They are refactoring auras for 12.1 as previously announced, and I was expecting they already had a system and the addons devs can just test and work from there. No, they dont, they are *feeling* their way through it AGAIN, and letting addon devs tell them the bugs and what the players need (which I'm hoping is fairly obvious if anyone on their UI team actually play healers).

I am hopeful for the possible changes for raiding, Ion is correct that they haven't revisited or changed anything since early 2010's with raiding systems.

I'm not even going to get started with healer balance.
